Commentators sound so defeated.
How biased they were.
Sweet, sweet tears.

Still waiting to see a guy with an actual threat from the blueline play on the powerplay.

That means Oleksiak or Dillon in place for Robidas and maybe Daley.

I like his shoot first mentality, but he's just putting into people's shins.

There's still some disturbing trends in this game... like the fact we had 2:09 of 5 on 3 time and couldn't score. Winning is great but we're far from fixed. I'm just about sure we'll still have the worst PP in the league at the end of the season.

With Roy, Benn, Jagr and Eriksson, there is no way they will have the worst powerplay at the end of the season.

The offense is just starting to come together. They are at least having some zone time on the powerplay, something they didn't have in their first 8 games.

i honestly think there are signs of the PP improving. Was morrow on the PP for the 5 on 3? We have had so little time on the power play because of all the penalty killing but now that Morrow is off the top PP unit i think it will slowly improve.

we need some time for some chemistry to develop. if we are last in the league in pp with this squad, gulutzan will not have a job.

Don't count your eggs before they hatch. Morrow was still on the top powerplay unit when it was 5-on-4.

The only time he wasn't on that powerplay was when it was 5-on-3.

Jagr is still damn hesitant on the powerplay. He is moving better on the ice and other than those 2 stupid penalties looked relatively good today but he needs to start using his shot. I think people are forgetting what kind of shot Jagr has since he is barely using it. Most of his shots have been weak. Is he snakebit? Does he need a Benn like game like today for him to start playing with more confidence?

He was in front of the net and never touched the puck. It was retarded.

ryder was in morrow's spot during the 2-minute 5-on-3. looked like they were trying to set up the cross ice one-timer with him and jagr.

i too thought the power play looked better. improved zone entries, good puck possession. that setup between goligoski, jagr, and robidas was pretty nice. i just have such little confidence in the guys manning the points. none have huge shots. they're also not particularly accurate. and none seem to have that offensive awareness in a typical pp qb.

Jamie actually tried to make a joke in the post-game interview.

When asked about the EN goal miss:

"Uh, I didn’t want it, thought I’d make the game a little more interesting”

Atta boy!

I write this not because I'm danish, I don't understand why larsen has been benched, he played a beautiful game when he scored the only goal the team got, and after that he got sacked, I'm confused

Just saw this crazy stat:

Morrow's first of the season was set up by Jagr, who has at least one point against the Avalanche in seven straight games — a streak dating to 2002.

You arent the only one wondering. But it sounds like its a size issue. Robidas, Daley and Goligoski are all smaller guys and also more established players. So it seems they wanted to add a larger / more physical guy to each pairing and Philip is simply the odd man out in the equation.

For Larsen to play consistently, he's going to have to adopt a physical game he doesn't have or the Stars are going to have to trade one of their smaller d-men.

It sucks for Larsen being the odd man out behind more veteran players, but it's easy to understand that a coach doesn't want 4 of his 6 d-men to be undersized in more physical games.

It used to be that way, and he's made dramatic strides to be a more physical player. He throws a lot of hits now, and he's not easily knocked off the puck. So I'm not sure where you're getting that from.

I used to be down on him a ton, and for that exact same reason. I've seen his progression all the way through our system, and he's playing a physical game that's on another level from where he started.

He's an NHLer, and there's no questions about it.

When Robidas is moved, Larsen will play.
