Worst 5 crowds

Opposite thread to the "best 5 crowds" thread.

In no particular order -

Toronto
Edmonton
Islanders
New Jersey
Phoenix

Special emphasis on Toronto. That isn't me trolling the Leafs - even die-hard Toronto fans complain about the ACC crowd, most of whom are the execs who spend most of the game sipping white wine and looking at their iPads. Close ups of the crowd after a Leafs goal show 90% of those pictured sitting down with a ho-hum expression, maybe a few are lightly clapping. Leafs fans are rabidly insane on the road, but home games are super uninspiring.

I'd toss Pittsburgh in there.

Yeah, this thread isn't going to turn into fanbase bashing at all.

Actually, I feel like we're going to see a ton of fanbases bashing their own crowds.

Vancouver, you suck. BC Place is pretty loud though.

Buffalo has had very weak crowds ever since the 06-07 team got dismantled and we became an extremely boring team to watch. Most people fall asleep at games.

We saw plenty of that in the other thread. Plenty of fans were saying things like their team shouldn't even be considered in the discussion of best home crowd.

We may not be the loudest during the regular season (mind you we haven't had much to cheer for quite a few years) but we have sold out for ages and are intense during the playoffs.

Yeah all the noise you hear on tv (if its quite) comes from the nose bleeds aka the die hard section at the acc for which tickets are probably still more expensive then some teams good sections SMH

Honestly for what Toronto has been offering lately talent wise it's not worth going unless your getting the tickets for free. Imagine tonight paying all that money to what a discusting performance vs the canes.

Hit up bars around the city and you'll see a good atmosphere

Edmonton definitely has a brutal regular season crowd. Its insane how opposite the playoff crowd is though.

Edmonton's suck. Don't let the playoff run of 06 fool you otherwise.

What you said. They broke decibel levels during the '06 playoffs.

Considering that the ACC gets sold out every game, there is relatively little noise in that building. The atmosphere is absolutely dreadful.

stars crowds are bi-polar, in my experience.

when things are going good, they're loud, emotional, intelligent, and fun. when things aren't going well, they're sparsely populated, indifferent, silent, and boring.

Vancouver ? They don't strike me as an amazing atmosphere but definetly not the worst when you have teams like Phoenix, Dallas, Florida, Ottawa and NYI

It's fanbases bashing their own fanbase

And I agree. Vancouver shouldn't be on this list.

Fanbases who consistently don't show up to games. Won't mention names.
