No, and it may be time to move some of our core players out and reshuffle again.

Good point. I wouldn't mind either of them.

Cheers mate.

Seriously though, with this short schedule, injuries and teams like Washington, Philly, Winnipeg and the Rangers doing poor, I can see us somehow getting in. Very VERY slim however but who knows with this season.

Not a chance, I figure as the season goes on the other teams will continue to get kick it up a notch, we will move in the other direction loosing confidence as we drive towards the cliff. Anytime we get a early lead you can kiss the game good bye, hanging back and playing shut down hockey is killer for us.

If the Leafs get two points versus the Habs, it'll look more likely. Long way to go, obviously. But the East is so weak...anyone can get in this season.

Even if we do we get who, PIT, BOS or TBL first round? That would be over in a quickie.

This abomination of a concept needs to be torn apart. Burke left Leaf fans with the proverbial "pig in a poke". What he has left is not fixable.

This concept has passed on!
This concept should be no more!
It has ceased to be!
Its expired and gone to meet its maker!
Its a stiff!
Bereft of life, it should rest in peace!
Its pushing up daisies!
Its kicked the bucket! Its shuffled off its mortal coil!
Its run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible!

This is an ex concept!
No. it's only resting.

Its too close to call

Right now were on pace for 89 points, the normal point total is 90-93, right now we're missing it by 1-4 points but keep in mind the season is still 80% remaining and a lot could or couldn't happen.

Three key things need to pick up if we have a fighting shot

1. Kessel needs to get it going, 1 goal in 12 games as the top player is NOT acceptable, he needs to pick it up x10.

2. Home ice needs to improve vastly, 1 win in 5 games is not good enough if we want the playoffs.

3. Penalty Kill needs to be in the middle of the pack at least, we're currently 27th, bad all around.

Considering the PP is bad,the PK is bad and the top players lack of production the team doesn't look too bad.

We usually win against TBL and PIT. If we face Boston we're out in 4 with a 28-4 goal differential, but the others can make for a good series.

When did TBL get good. Who have they added since they missed the playoffs?

So what if we make 8th and lose in round 1? It would be good for player to development for our team to experience playoff hockey, and I believe we'd put up a great effort against any team (except Boston because they have our number). I can't believe people are so turned off to being in the 7th or 8th seeds and facing a tough opponent.

Read this thread over again and you will see how stupid our fans are. Some how the key to success is to trade proven stars for draft picks and never have success until one day you instantly become one of the elite. Experience is not needed, gradual improvement, nah.

I'm not going to say we will make the playoff, especially with Lupul out so long, but I do expect gradual improvement as everyone gets used to the new system and the players new to the NHL get comfortable. With Riemer playing as he is though, it is possible we squeak in and get some much needed playoff experience and confidence.

I would not be surpised if by the end of the year Kadri is our first line center and does not look out of place there like Bozak does.

In a 82 game season I would say the leafs miss the playoffs but in a 48 game season a couple hot streaks and any team could make it. I would prefer one more year with a high draft pick but we will see.

I don't really care if we make the playoffs or come in a lottery position. I just don't want a 17-23 position in the league and miss out on a chance at a center. I'm expecting us to bottom out and trade a player for another late first rounder and hopefully get either Mackinnon/Barkov with our high draft and use the later pick to draft Max frickin' Domi

You will get one response after a win. A different one after a loss. Truth is no one has a clue.

Team is kind of in limbo.

I wish they would go on a big winning streak or a big losing streak to show us where the team is at.

Also, a series against Pittsburg or TB would be solid.

We'd likely get worked BAD by Boston, but anyone else in the East we can trade shots with.
