STARS ARE SEEKING REPLACEMENT FOR ARNOTT.

The Dallas Stars need to fill the gap at center with FA Jason Arnott gone. THe best replacement would be Handzus who would be cheaper then signing some of the available 2 way playing centers.
They might want to sign Peca, but Handzus would be cheaper and is that big center they need to replace Arnott.
Who do they have that we would want and could grab from them do you suppose?

Everyone i want to see on the Flyers are out of Handzus trade values. (Morrow, Lehtinen, Zubov)

Except for Boucher, but if he's signed for more then this season the Stars wouldnt like it.

I'd take Morrow.

Something along the lines of Hatcher and Zeus for Boucher and Polak? We Could even throw in a pick to even it up if necessary. Our primary reason for doing this would be to shed salary, I suggest Polak because we badly need LW's in our system.

Boucher is signed for 3 more years at 2.5

It's listed in Spector's Trade Rumors.

I think Handzus may be a good fit for Dallas, but I don't see anyone on Dallas who they would give up who would be a good fit here. There would need to be a 3rd team.

I am one of those Handzus supporters, so I really would not want to trade him. However, if he were traded to Dallas, I would insist Hatcher be a part of the deal. I'd rather wait and see how the season pans out, and if the Flyers are just so-so or plain bad, trade him at the deadline when his value would be at its highest (barring injury).

If the Flyers traded Hanzus, I'd like something like Handzus and Hatcher (plus pick(s) maybe?) for Zubov plus a scrub, or Lehtinen and a scrub player. That way we shed salary and get either a good defensmen or good defensive forward. However, I seriously doubt Dallas would trade Zubov for anybody.

The Stars need a 2nd line center to play behind Modano. That's not Handzus. It's not Peca either (or Halpern per Spectors).

Zues and Hatcher going would interest me, especially for a winger.

I was just reading TSN and spectors trade rumours and thought of this exact idea. Let me start by saying I have been one of the ones who have been fighting to keep Handzus here but I am more and more leaning towards training him, depending on the status of Primeau.

I was thinking some type of package with Boucher coming to Philly and Handzus going to Dalls with draft picks or minor prospects included to even out the trade.

I think Handzus would fit in as a 2nd line center in Dallas. Their two way system suits him very well and contrary to what some believe, he is more then capable of being a 2nd line center if played with the right wingers, meaning wingers with some speed to compensate for his lack of speed. Similar to Ron Francis. Never that great of a skater, he was always paired with quick wingers and his brains made up for his lack of speed. Handzus was on a point per game pace last year until he started battling injuries and he went down the tubes the 2nd half while being hurt.

Boucher is not the best dman but is very steady, great shot from the point and is right handed which we need (unless Baumgartner is better then we think)

Would Dallas want Hatcher back?
Hatcher and Handzus and 2nd in 2007 or 2006 for Boucher and Janne Niinimaa?

I am not sure. Should the Flyers add someone, Meyer instead of 2nd?

That's a terrible deal for the Flyers.

If we're talking trading partners I suggest the Predators or Columbus.

On paper looks better expecially with two R hand shots. I know Niinimaa is a dog.

Living in the Dallas area, I would hate for any trade to happen. The last thing I need to hear are my friends telling me they got the better end of the deal. Theres only a few guys (Morrow, Lehtinen, Jokinen, and Zubov) on the Stars really worth getting and there is no way we get them straight up for Zeus.

Re:

I heard Peca went back to the Island leaving them nothing but a trade to get that 2 way center.
They have Matt Niskanen a Young prospect defenseman and maybe a 3rd rounder? Or throw in Hatcher to take the salary away from us and maybe make that a second rounder.

Why not try for Daley? He's pretty much made for the new NHL. I wouldn't waste our time trading for an older, more expensive Boucher.

I'd make them take Hatcher. If not, if Handzus is the cheap option, I'll keep Handzus because we already know he is a great player
