Oh, no. I didn't mean for Lu. Just that they may consider selling off the Burke regime and focus on the kids. Only way they may deal Kessel here is if we're willing to move Schneider++ or thereabouts.

Probably not, but if they did they'd probably be better off for it. Not that Kessel is a bad player, but remember when we traded for Luongo and lost our 1st and 2nd line RW in the process (Bertuzzi to trade and Carter to free agency)? With Pyatt and Cooke as the replacements but with Luongo in net we only went from out of the playoffs to division champs.

Yeah, I can't see Kessel coming here unless it's Schneids going the other way.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Nonis better write his will if he trades Kessel, because there's no chance that Toronto trades him.

So what he's off to a bad start, the Sedins haven't done much so far either, they're not going to trade away their star player simply because he's got off on the wrong foot this season.

Would you trade Henrik Sedin for Tuuka Rask? Just because Henrik isn't doing well and we need a #1 goalie? (not our case but if it was)

Long story short, Kessel isn't going anywhere.

Maybe not this year, but next season he will be a pending UFA... is he really going to want to stay in Toronto.

If I had our current team, with H.Sedin being a UFA in one year, and our two golies replaced by Reimer and Scrivens, I would probably trade H.Sedin for Rask.

The main reason is that Rask would help me win more games than Henrik especially with Kesler able to step up and fill his role. I'd also try and trade one of my goalies for as much of a H.Sedin replacement as I could. It doesn't make sense to try and assemble a competitive team without a good goalie.

Situation is completely different.

Kessel is likely headed elsewhere when his contract expires in a couple years given Toronto's suckage and the pressure playing there unless he was overpaid.

Henrik has been a Canuck since he was in the NHL, has strong ties to the city and is playing for a contender with his twin brother.

Actually, right now, not far from the truth. Kadri and Frattin (Reimer) have been pretty much our best players. Kessel has actually played VERY well (minus the goals). He's improved alot on defense and is active on the forecheck. He is getting good/great chances....just snakebitten right now.

On a sidenote, it was funny hearing "Luuu" chants ringing through Rexall place last night.

I would. Only so we can lock him in the dressing room for a players only meeting, before releasing him

Seriously though, no way in hell would I accept Marchand on this team.

Which is why I wouldn't want the Canucks to trade for him. After his stint in Toronto I doubt he'd want to sign in another hockey (media) crazy market. Plus the Yankee/less taxes thing...

Just heard Gillis on 1040. He said he's in NY; you know who else is in NY? Pittsburgh!

So that's two Pittsburgh games in a row...Is a trade in the works? Doubt it would involve any goalies, though.
