Actually, truth be told, Murray was in on Tanev BIG TIME when he was looking for a team to sign with. Apparently, if my memory serves me correctly, Tim Murray is (was? continues to be?) a big fan. We came 2nd in the "Tanev Sweepstakes" (or whatever it is you want to call it without exaggerating it like the word "sweepstakes" tends to do).

It was between us and Vancouver in the end apparently, and he chose the Canucks. It wasn't for a lack of effort that he didn't sign here.

IIRC wasn't it Tanev who the Murray's thought they had a deal with then found out that he had signed with Vancouver?

Yep it was. They thought they had him signed but he changed his mind and went to Vancouver. I just saw that as an opportune to pull out that old meme.

Big shot by Bryan Little. Game-winning snipe with 15 seconds remaining.

Weber held pointless in all 9 games this season

His next goal is #100 of his career

Let's see how Suter's doing...4 points...-7. Does not look pretty on it's face. They really worked very well as a team. An adjustment period is likely normal but it's a dangerous place to be.

I said it as soon as they let Suter go.

Suter allowed Weber to make a ton of chances to produce offense because he was always there to bail Weber out when he screws up.

Weber without Suter either:

a) Continues to take those chances and gets exposed defensively
or
b) Has to play less risky, and thus produce way less offense

The guy isn't Karlsson.

So, you're saying, his Norris nominations reflected off the help from Suter? I used to say the opposite *Minus the Norris* for Suter.

Jesus, every time I update my Yahoo page it seems like another goal is scored in the SJ/CHI game. 3-3 now and the 1st isn't even over.

Watched the highlights of the Philly-TB game. Crombeen tries to pick a fight with Giroux. Rinaldo answers the call and knocks Crombeen into next week. Old school hockey.

Teeeeeerrible call on Desjardins, pissed me off when he was thrown out of the game on a good hit. Crappy reffing!

That's what the NHL is becoming. People who ***** and moan about the violence in hockey get pretty quiet when stuff like this happens. Its only going to get worse.

Viktor Fasth is very good goalie. Looking solid right now against Colorado.

The condition will most likely be if he plays.

I think it is ridiculous that the Islanders are allowed to constantly find ways to ice a crappy team by artificially inflating their team's salary cap. Last year they forced Nino to play because his bonuses kept them over the floor, and now they are bringing in a retired goaltender to do the same thing. Pathetic.

Good to see him gone from the division. The Isles had to get over the cap floor so I understand the deal but it's still a big gamble. No one knows if he'll ever be back or back in all-star form.

Chiarelli keeps abusing other GMs.

Edit: So the 2nd is conditional on Thomas playing 1 game for NYI.

Hahahaha

To the Islanders?!

I wonder how redneck Thomas is going to handle ultra liberal New York!

I don't get why they did that...

A 2nd can easily get you a serviceable top-6/4...

They don't give up the pick unless he plays and he has no intention of playing. Basically they gain a cap hit for nothing.

WOW

To me, I think this is a very good trade for the Isles. If Thomas ever comes back, NYI will be in the playoffs and could probably be a Sens killing. I always hated going against that guy..

but taking on the huge cap hit is the question
