This, and switching a bad contract for a terrible contract isn't a plus.

I honestly believe Bryz is the most underrated goalie in the league on this site.

I have seen multiple posters say that he is "the worst starting goalie in the league" or "the worst goalie in the league".

He has good NHL number due to such a small sample size. He was traded to Boston because they lacked depth at the AHL level last year.

His AHL numbers are okay, but not absolutely ground breaking.

We need a back up with experience and leadership qualities, not a goalie with 8 NHL starts. If Bryz goes down, would you feel confident with him as your starter?
Hes played on pretty bad offensive teams down in Providence which has skewered his stats, but he really does have the potential to being a starter. He is really solid position wise and his butterfly is strong, but he doesn't have an awesome push from side to side which hurts him because hes a smaller goalie. When he develops his push side to side though he really could be a solid goalie and he is older than Rask so he'd prob want to get out of Boston unfortunately

It's seriously mind-boggling too, because everyone is so quick to now claim that Giroux has dropped off the face of the earth in terms of his ranking among other elite player due to a bad start and everyone is so quick to hop on Tarasenko's balls due to a hot start, but nobody seems to understand how excellent Bryz has been and they still underrate him.

I guess when it comes to the main boards, if a Flyer is doing well now but was bad last year, then this year is a fluke. But if a Flyer did well last year and is off to a rough start this year, then last year was a fluke.

everyone is too busy etching patrick marleaus name onto the art ross, hart, and conn smythe and tarasenkos name onto the calder to actually watch the games or think logically.

There's a small percentage of hockey fans that watch more games than just those played by the team they cheer for. It's not surprising that people think Bryz stinks this year when you just look at the 3-6 record coming off the heels of one of the highest scoring playoff series of all-time.

Those ignoring Bryz's play are also ignoring that the Flyers have scored 2 goals or less in 7 of the 9 games played this season.

Unfortunately I think they're smarter than the average main board poster. Double unfortunately, up to this point they can underestimate this team all they want. Sophomore slumps, injuries, and cold offense means Bryz basically needs shutouts to win. Or the other team needs to suck harder.

The only explanation is that Bryzgalov is a talent vampire. He was awful while the team played great last year. Now he is excelling while the team is struggling.

Only if you pursue Leighton when Schneider sits out of games on the advice of his agent.

I realize this is a bit of a mood killer but one thing absolutely scared the **** out of me tonight. Bryz wants a big work load, Bryz is showing us that he is the goalie we thought he would be. On the flip side Leights has shown us any luck he had in the nhl during the cup run is gone. The game is to fast for him, he looks lost back there.
Then it hit me, when Bryz had his legged wrapped around the pipe and was visibly in pain (for the second time this week) what if Bryz goes down for a few weeks? The change in goalie could easily be the difference between making the playoffs, or missing them.
