I really like the look of that McGinn - Duchy - PAP line, it's working well. Funny how many of us on here knew it would before the season even started, yet Sacco tried to force Landeskog onto that line.
Much as my desire to defend Sacco has diminished greatly over the past few months, what was the problem with "forcing" Landeskog onto that line?

It simply made no sense. Granted O'Reilly was gone and he thought he could keep the McGinn/Staz/Jones line rolling. But anyone with even 50/50 vision could see Landeskog and Duchy's games didn't match.

Landeskog isn't a rushing player, he cycles, sets up, peppers the net and crashes it or occasionally snipes a shot. He wins battles along the boards, while Duchy uses his open space to be most effective. He's simply geared to play with Stastny or O'Reilly, both of which are more than happy to let Landeskog carry the play and cycle along the boards.

PA's stride lacks any explosion so it takes him a lot of strides to get up to speed. He kind of makes up for it because he always hustles, but it is definitely a weakness of his. Being paired with Duchene, you're going to notice it.

Glad to see you guys are pleased with his signing. He rocks a mullet, how can you not love that? Not sure if it's been reported much, but he's a good guy in the locker room as he's a bit of a clown. It helps keep people loose and immediately endears himself to his teammates. I hope he continues to impress after the 'honeymoon period' going on right now.

One question though, he is prone to making some bad turnovers in the offensive zone... has he cut down on that? He was much better last year as opposed to his first year, but it does happen with him.

Guess he replaces our former clown in Galiardi? Heh.

And no, he still forces passes that he shouldn't sometimes and turns it over. He did that on the PP twice last night and gave up a couple good chances to Dallas. He was also weak on a delayed penalty which is what Dallas won on. So he's not without his drawbacks, but offensively he's been everything we could ask of and Duchy has excelled defensively this year so it helps PAP.
