Are the Avs doing any conditioning training at all?
Wind blows and someone gets hurt on this team each game. This is really ridiculous, and i think this organization is really cheap. They probably don't spend any extra money on their athletes to get proper conditioning and proper training.
I can't think of any other reason why this players dropping like fly's every game other than not getting proper conditioning. And the reason they aren't getting the proper conditioning is because they don't spend extra money on training, they just go with what they have i guess, just like they do with the roster.
Avs motto is, spend less and try to get more. Of course it isn't working, and it's not going to work until they start spending more.

Condensed schedule, no training camp, coaching staff not being able to work with players until 3 weeks ago..
Was it lack of conditioning that gave Landeskog a concussion?
Downie's injury was a freak accident.
Players get hurt, that's part of the game. The Avalanche aren't the only team with injury problems right now either.

Landeskog's concussion was a conditioning issue?
EJ's bruised foot is a conditioning issue?
Downie blowing out his knee following through on a check along the boards is a conditioning issue?
What was their excuse last year or year before that? Because the players got hurt in prior years just like they are doing this year.
The only injury that we have suffered so far this year that could maybe be put on lack of proper conditioning is Jones knee injury.
Downie get stuck in a rut and tearing his ACL is a freak injury.
Landeskog getting his head crushed was poor on ice awareness of the the on coming freight train.
Wilson stepping on Hejda's dropped stick and rolling his ankle/knee was a freak injury.
Johnson taking a slap shot off the foot, is just a part of hockey.
If anything I'd say we are having some bad luck, it seems like we've had that ever since Sakic put his hand in the snowblower. I'd say most of the injuries we've suffered are more a result of random happenings than poor conditioning. I would agree with you if people were going down with pulled groins, strained backs etc. but they're not.
Is it bad that part of me actually hopes EJ misses 3-4 games with this injury?
Surely management would get the point after those 3-4 games that our Defense without EJ is atrocious, and would move the necessary pieces to aquire a #1 Dman.
Avs games would actually start to become a comedy TV show without EJ in our lineup.
Lets be fair, conditioning CAN be a contributing factor in an injury like Downie's. If his muscles weren't fully conditioned to take the strain of the awkward check, more pressure falls on the ligaments. It was ultimately a freak accident but we can't rule out that deconditioning could have played a role in not being able to correct the motion.
But the rest, yeah it just bad luck.
If EJ is out tomorrow it might be a good time to start betting

The only thing it will ensure is that Sacco will be kept for next year, because of the injuries we had.
Expecting Avs to make a big trade because of poor play during an injury riddled season indicates unfamiliarity with this organizations M.O. That's not how they roll.
Crazy injuries piling up in a shortened season with RoR as yet unsigned?
/tinfoilhat
We "battle" all season against injuries unsuccessfully. High draft pick for NHL ready talent. RoR and management come to an agreement 'suddenly' after a lost season with a long term discount contract. All key players at 100% to start 13-14. Shed the fat for futures. Parade.

Nah, we'll probably win those games by fluke. So Sacco will take ice time away from EJ and give to Hunwick and RoB.
