Hrdina made $1,050,000 last season . if he did come and play for 750,000 and take bonk's spot do you do it ? defensivly speaking is he as good as bonk is for 1.5 million less? if he is this might make some sense .

who knows what there thinking didint we just let go of sundstrom . seems like a clone to me

Honestly unless we get a player that will impact majorly (A la Shanahan or Samsonov) I say stay away from UFAs and play one of our young players....I'd rather see Kyle Chipchura than some UFA with little impact in the lineup

Not true.

I want Gainey to either sign a RFA with some kind of skills, or just stand pat and let the kids play.

Chipchura right now is a better player than Hrdina.

you are missing an integral part of why everyone dislikes it. Two words. Jan. Hrdina.

We didn't want to sign any player at any price, at least for me, it was the good players that make your team better that were interesting. Now, if he would make an offer to Patrick Traverse, Eric Chouinard, etc and to a lesser extent, Jan Hrdina, I believe it's normal to dislike it.

When Boston gets Chara and Savard....and you get Jan Hrdina, it's a tough summer.

I heard somewhere that Carbo's daughter was a figure skater...
I guess he prefers his daughter to hang out with a figure skater instead of
Brendan Morrow...

As a Columbus fan who had to suffer through a season with this guy you are bang on. You are much more better off playing a young guy.

This guy earned the nickname "Captain Hook" b/c he could absolutely not adapt to the new rules. He hooked everything in sight. On top of that he doesn't hit, he's an average playmaker and he never shoots the biscuit. He is okay on the penalty kill if he doesn't take another penalty in the process.

The org wanted nothing to do w/ this guy after the season ended and that is coming from a team that needless to say, has struggled.

Well I can't say I'd be thrilled to land Hrdina, regardless of salary. He's exactly the kind of player I hate. Soft, uninspired and offensively challenged, yet smart enough to play in many situations. He's a fine although odorless and tasteless filler like there are so many in this league, just like Sundstrom was, but at this rate I'd rather play a youngster than him.

Not my idea of an improvement.

Chara or no Chara, they're still the same lame Bruins to me.... bound to have a solid season, and then have their ***** handed to them by US during the first round of the playoffs..... Savard, I mean come on.... he's so gonna get BONKED N' BEGIN'ED

In the mean time, if you worry about having a tough summer, you can always count on Jonas to deliver the goods

I feel for you guys, I really do. Hrdina was pretty bad last year. For the most part he centered a line with Vyborny and either Balastik or Nash and still had trouble scoring. He;s good at face-offs and that's about it. Well I guess he's not a liability on defense but the Jackets were glad to be rid of him.

Hopefully we don't get Hrdina. Its better to just play one of our younger guys instead. Sure he played great in Pittsburgh with Kovy but even Columbus does not think he can help them which says a lot.

Man I sure hope its not true.. If it happens Im seriously starting to doubt about Gainey's competence and wish Savard back.. Hrdina would be useless and take a young player spot.

Again, he didn't play with Kovalev, he played with Jagr. Kovalev was with Lang/Straka and sometimes Lemieux the year he got traded.
