Nathan Dempsey

I noticed the Kings declined to pick up his option, so what does that mean exactly? I know it makes him a UFA, but is there a certain date the Kings couldn't theoretically resign him until? Does this also mean we have 0 interest in him?

I think that ship has sailed...

Although the defense is woefully thin from a prospect point of view... from a suspect point of view, Dempsey would only muddy the waters...

I know Dempsey isn't a good player at the NHL level, but if no NHL team is interested in him, do you figure the Kings will sign him and send him to Manchester?

Jason Holland fills that role of ex-NHL player who found himself on an NHL roster for 2 years even though he's really an AHL player.

I wouldn't go so far as to call him a non-NHL player...he had a crappy start to the year, but for the last half he did pick up his play. I'd say that he can at least stick as a 7 D-man with some team.

The lockout year really hurt him. Prior to that he was putting up a little run offensively with the Hawks/Kings. After that he has struggled. Tough call to let him go, he may come back to haunt us if he finds a fit somewhere else.
