Nope.

I wouldn't give a 2nd for Liles. That's what we got for him a few years ago. He's older now, but not better. And he's more expensive now. I'd give a 3rd for Liles. Or a 3rd and a 6th.

And at this stage, he's pre-concussed. Concuss me once, shame on you. Can't concuss me again.

Topics on the first page in the Leafs forum:

- Kessel is the softest player in the NHL!
- John-Michael Liles, Compliance Buyout?
- Phil Kessel Discussion Thread. (no goals as of Feb 4, 2013)
- Is Tyler Bozak the worst first line center in the NHL

Kessel is worth more than ROR. Plain and simple. Can you build a team around Kessel? No, I think that is pretty obvious. But can you build a team around Duchene, Stastny, Landy, and Kessel... Absolutely.

Tyler Bozak is the worst first line center in the NHL for one reason...HE IS NOT A FIRST LINE CENTER! He is a good 2nd line center and an excellent 3rd line center.

The Avalanche can't afford to give up that depth. I'd be interested in dealing ROR for Kessel, but not unloading the other assets at the same time.

Lol that is pretty funny have to admit. However if any of those fuys have a good game tonight the threads will be Kessel is God, Bozak=Crosby etc.

We are bipolar.

Just out of curiosity, do most leaf fans want to trade Kessel? Or are these threads being made by the minority of leafs fans/opposing teams fans. Or do many not think he's coming back? Been like 5-6 threads recently on him.

Not that many, though I guess the number has been growing lately.

Gawd if Leafs don't resign Kessel... That trade will look even worse... If I was Kessel I would ditch though, that franchise is going nowhere fast and he gets cr*pped on constantly by their fans.

Kessel for O'Reilly straight up, even though ROR is the better player.

Simplify it.

Phil Kessel + Tyler Bozak for Ryan O'Reilly + Michael Sgarbossa + 1st

Its premature but if the Leafs are out of the picture come the deadline I don't see how you don't at least entertain the idea. He has a limited NTC/NMC kick in next season and the Leafs were to lose him for nothing it would set the franchise back even further. Losing Kessel for nothing is cringeworthy

leafs already have two 50+ point second line centers (grabs and bozak) and possibly a third developing (kadri). why would they move a legit first line sniper and a center who will put the same amount of points for ror?

ror is good but he isnt kessel good. he definitely isnt kessel + good. i agree that the op is a little too many parts.

imo kessel + 3rd = ror + 1 (top 5 protected)
bozak = downie

Give-or-take.

I'm under the impression the Avs don't have anyone to replace O'Reilly with; Bozak is a fine 3rd line center.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but Mitchell looks like he'd work at 3C. Sgarbossa I think could be a respectable 3C soon. Bozak would be solid, but our 1st and Sgarbossa are too dangerous to trade before we know what we have.

I wouldn't throw those terms around so loosely. Matt Stajan was once a 50 point center and I bet most HFBoards are smarter than Brent Sutter.
