Depends on the coach. That's Grabovski's guy, but Holzer's area, unless Holzer's supposed to provide support for the other D on a dump (if this is after a dump).

If this not after a dump, I have no idea what Holzer thinks he's doing in that corner.

But still, Grabovski needs to recognize he's not covering anyone on the Canes, even if Holzer isn't where he should be, which I'm not even 100% sure of.

Supposedly positional which would make it Holzer's man.

Just a nasty carousel of bottom pairing d-men in Toronto

And AHL dman. Kostka was good in the AHL, but to go from good to the AHL to top pairing on any NHL team shouldn't have happened.

Could equally be either winger's fault. Some defensive strategies have both D and the C in the corner with the weak side winger covering the slot. Nashville does this at times. Both Toronto wingers were on the same side for some reason.

I'm rarely a fan of pointing a finger directly at someone. Mistakes usually happen because of a breakdown in communication or multiple players doing something wrong. It's a team game. Plus, you could just as easily blame the coach here. No one really knows whose fault it is.

Huh? This was a 5 on 5 goal. There are more players on the ice than the picture shows.

I'm new to HF...which 6'4 30-goal scorer are you referring to?

I guess he meant a 6'4 25-in-62 scorer.

You're gonna get along just fine around here.

Jim Rutherford's philosophy on putting together a defense, everyone.

"Ward can just bail them out, right?"

There is another similar picture on Leafs board on how not to penalty kill.

PS: While it is screenshot from Leafs @ Capitals, it isn't from tonight's game, but last season.
