trade seto to pitt for some of their young d-men. I saw this idea on some blog? Seto and pick (or no pick if his value is high enough) for pouliot, matta, harrington, despres, or morrow, and maybe a pick or someone??

Same trade has been proposed 5+ times on the trade boards.

Naww.

I'd say his value is around a 2nd rounder right now.

If Paul Gaustad gets a first, so does Brodziak.

Late first or early 2nd.

Since it was Edmonton fan making the proposal, I assumed an early 2nd would be coming back.

Anaheim and Buffalo fans wouldn't like these proposals.

Okay so I know I will probably get hated on for this, but honestly next to Setoguichi, Kassian, and Falk/Prosser (For sure Cullen if he were tradable) I think the Wild should be trying to trade PMB. He is finally starting to look like his oldself building his value. I know he has been our most productive forward outside of the top line, but he is a UFA after this season and he has a cap hit of 4 mil. Also PMB is a guy who can't/shouldn't play anywhere but top 6 wing, he has a very similar skillset to Granlund, and we have guys in the minors like Zucker/Larsson who would be able to step into a top 6 spot.

Setoguichi, as frustrating as he has been offensively, is cabable of playing a 3rd line role with PP mins. Also Gooch is a streaky player, but we know once he pots one the flood gates could open. Why trade him when his value is at its lowest?

Bouchard is unlikely to be re-signed no matter how well he performs this season. Unless we're in playoff contention come deadline, I bet he gets moved, but not right now when we're struggling to score.

What can we possibly get for him? 2-3rd at best?

I just think the Wild's problem right now is that they have too many smallish/soft top 6 forwards.

Parise, Cullen, Setoguichi, Granlund, and PMB are all 6' or under. On top of that Granlund and PMB are a huge liability on a line together and Heatley might the softest 6'4 220 hockey player I have ever seen. This team has a lot of skill up front, but the one thing they lack is a true power forward. Charlie Coyle does fit that mold, but that's an awfully big role for a 20 yr old rookie to fill. Guys like Ryan Malone, Ryan Clowe, Drew Stafford, Chris Stewart, etc would fit really nicely on Granlund's wing with Gooch. Really a mirror of the first line with SNP-PLY-PWF that has worked so well.

If the Wild can step up their offense and Bouchard is at least a .5 ppg player, I would expect a 2nd or maybe a 3rd/4th and decent prospect. Without the concussion problems, Bouchard is easily worth a mid to late 1st.

Oh I agree about the Wild being too small up front but that's a problem that we may be able to fix without having to make some blockbuster trade, although I've always had a bit of a man crush on Stafford. And for the record, he may not be huge, but Seto is easily capable of holding his own out there as we've seen so far this year. If Coyle can develop into a solid 2nd liner that's one big body and all it takes is a decent top 6 free agent signing and our top 6 is more than capable of holding it's own. Parise's size hasn't hindered him at all, Zucker is kinda like a Parise-lite and his size didn't seem to affect his playing ability in the Houston games I watched, and Heatley, well, whatever.

I do agree that Seto can hold his own to an extent. He isn't afraid of contact and he will hit, but he gets knocked off the puck way too often which is really the problem. Obviously Parise has it figured out. I only included him because he is under 6'.

As far as Coyle goes I'm excited. He definitely fits the Wild's needs upfront, but how NHL ready is he this year? I know he has been good Houston, but he has also been streaky. If he is going to stick with the Wild this year he needs find consistency in his game. He looked good in his debut, hopefully it continues.

Bouchard >>>>>> Setoguchi

But if they don't plan on re-signing him, and the Wild are out of it, I expect a similar return to Zidlicky. 2nd round pick and a "meh" prospect.
