Islanders fans applaud bloody Crosby

Did anyone else notice this? Crosby had a puck deflect off his stick up into his face. He collapsed to the ice as blood started to stain the ice red. Isles fans immediately started cheering as he lay on the ice bloodied. Reports are he has a broken nose, and honestly it looked scary, especially considering his concussion issues. Why would people give such an event an ovation?

Why is the respect level plummeting throughout the NHL?

Already had a thread about this and it didn't go well. So unfortunately, this one's closed too.
