With all due respect, it's more of a hockey bias.

Pretty damn close. BTW Halak hd not been a starter for half a season never mind 2+ like Hiller.
Hiller numbers do not match either Price or Rinne thankyou you just proved Hiller is not better

Hypothetically speaking, if Fasth has proven to be the better goaltender by the draft, I'd move Hiller to Toronto for Biggs, Finn and a 2nd.

Even if we wanted to go with Fasth, we wouldn't trade Hiller till we had an extension. Regardless, we're not making that decision for a while.

With all respect to Hiller, he's not in the same boat as Rinne and (to a lesser extent) Price.

Would pay a realistic cost to get him in Toronto but Phil Kessel is not it.

Let's just be argumentative for the sake of it. I said they were close, in the same class I feel that the numbers show that.

What is a realistic cost? Can we also agree that Hiller is a # 1 goalie, probably in the top 10 in the league?

He's a #1 goalie and I'd put him somewhere between 8-15 in the league.

I hesitate to even make a suggestion on what the price is because I think this is a situation where neither side would be thrilled.

We'll stick with Reimer for now. He's been playing great this season so we need to see if he can keep it up.

For me it's

Miller
Quick
Lundqvist

Rinne
Price

Then about 15 goalies that on any given night can be as good as one another. Hiller is as close to that second grouping as anyone else.

Is Rinne's 10-11 season not impressive? Also his 11-12 season was played in front of one of the d-corps in the league.

Even if that were true(which I don't thik it is), that means Hiller is as much a bottom 10 starter as he is a top 10. Still not elite by any means.

Is your goaltender the most important player on your team or not? I think he is.

If Kessel was traded it certainly wouldn't be for a goalie.

... Miller over Quick and Lundqvist? Good lord. And people wonder why half the board thinks he's overrated.

I'm not saying it would be a good deal and I'm not saying he is better then Price and Rinne, but 10-11 Hiller was top 5 in the NHL easily until he got hit in the head.

What would it take?
Anaheim could lose Selanne, Koivu, Getzlaf and Perry next year.

I propose Kessel for Hiller straight up.
First off Fasth is a UFA after this season. And with him being uncertain after this season why would we do this? Don't we have to much UFA bull **** going on? This deal is dangerous and will require Kessel + 1st 2013 to even us to consider a Hiller move

Why would Toronto want to move Kessel for a goalie? From what I can tell Reimer & Scrivens have been solid so far. Issues Leafs have are elsewhere.

But I'd do the move if Fasth had 10 games in and still looked good and we would be able to sign him for 2 more years at least. I am no fan of Hiller since his comeback and I nearly die of heart attacks every time there is a shot on goal. I don't have any confidence with Hiller in net, the guy has just changed since his injury and I doubt he will return to the form he had prior to it.

But Bottomline is that the move makes no sense for either team right now. Leafs need Kessel and I imagine if they trade him, they should do so for a better package than just Hiller. Remember the guy cost you Seguin and Hamilton (), you'd want some value back for him.
