Georges Laraque Rumor

http://www.canada.com/topics/sports/...0-0cfcdc286f27

"If Georges Laraque doesn't sign with the Oilers, the Canadiens will almost certainly sign the Montreal product"

Don't know if the writer is just assuming we will sign Laraque if the Oilers don't or if he's heard something.

Frankly I like the Laraque crappy rumor a lot more then the Poti crappy rumor.

I would take Laraque any day of the week before Poti....Not the same utility, of course, but at least we could get a fan favorite than a fan favorite......to get booed....

And there's no use in seeing bonehead mistakes one after the other.....

I'm just so confused with him. First he says he'd never want to play here, but all of a sudden now he does. I like him, but make up your dang mind!

Can I wish that we don't sign either Laraque or Poti?

I'll learn to live with Poti since Souray might want out, but honestly, I rather the team stand still than add one of these guys.

There's more mistakes in 20-25 minutes than there's penalties in 5-10.....

And I'm sure that Laraque, in front of the net on PP' could surpass Poti's last year 3 goals.....

I want Laraque locked in the dressing room when we are on the PP.

Well I give you the first PP, but at least on the 2nd???? Anyway, he could have the as many goals as Poti playing his shift on the 4th....

Poti had a bad year last year...The 2 years before he had 10 and 11 goals both...And in 2002-2003 he put up nearly 50 points.

Laraque's personal website details every goal Georges scored, individually!

He'd simply take Sunny's old spot on the roster... except he'd be a part-time goon who we put out there when we want to wear their d-men down in their own zone along the boards instead of use him on the PK like Sunny.

Right now, it looks like Lapierre is currently on the Habs' 23 man roster.... I think theoretically he'll take that spot and Lappy plays another year on the farm, which is what the organization wants I believe.

Poti directly caused about 20 goals in each of those years. He's a terrible d-man. He'd only be a good choice if we had to choose between him, Andy Delmore, and Patrick Traverse.

They're all members of the team. Who's going to go toe to toe with Chara? McGratton? Peters (Downey could take him, I suppose)? Boynton's gone, so Ribs is useless.

2nd biggest highlight of the year for me, besides the thumping of the Leafs.

For a guy who causes 20 goals a year, I'm surprised he manages to maintain a career +13...

+13 for a career is atrocious.

I'd just like to see a players' name in a title that isn't preceded or followed by the word rumour.

Really getting tired of the speculation, subsequent wait and then disappointment when he signs elsewhere.

Plus/Minus... the most over-simplified stat of all time. It's the reason Brian Pothier gets $2.5m a year. Giveaways/Takeaways is way better. Actually watching how a d-man handles situations is about 100 times better than any stat.

True, though there's some exception when I prefer seeing Rumor than not, like the Tom Poti one....

You sure you're using the right word? Because Markov's career +/- is +17, so...

Yeah, Poti has played almost 200 more games than Markov. Convenient ommission on your part.
