I think Q and Bowman will live and die with each other. Thus it's not likely Q gets fired during the season. Both him and Stan Bowman may hit the road this summer if we have another disappointing season.

Bowman fanboys will say he should get to hire his own coach but wasn't Q brought in by the Bowmans as an advisor? Yes, I know Tallon was still here but as I recall, he wanted to keep Savard and Scotty pushed for Q.

If it was so important for him to hire his own coach then he should have done so by now. There were times he could have gotten rid of Q and it would have looked justifiable (like the 9 game losing streak for example).

Only complete Bowman haters would say that, just to take a stab at socalled 'Bowman fanboys'. Q is Bowman's guy, for all intents and purposes.

I've been both. Don't forget I was a major Bowman supporter at the beginning, then I found out he was a moron.

Bowmans wanted a hall of fame type of coach, and they got a Stanley Cup...who can argue with that?

It may not be a fit anymore, and Stan deserves to bring in his own coach to try something different. Just like Q deserves his chance to try something different.

I may be wrong here, but I don't see Bowman and Q attached at the hip. Q is Bowman's scapegoat when another season goes down the tube.

I 100% agree. Bowman has stood by Q time and time and now he is tied to him. If he wanted his own coach there have been several time he could have gotten rid of Q, during the 9 game losing streak, after yet another first round exit, but he has stood by him. If this team doesn't improve significantly, I mean better, PP, PK, GA and a longer play-off run, then it's time both go.

I had a dream they were knocked out in the WCQF again and yelling "FIRE Q!!!" over and over.

I don't see why he should look past the first-round given it has givem him trouble every year in Chicago other than 2009.

Is there even enough talent in the coaching pool to justify firing Q? I know Quenville has issues but he's too good of a coach to get rid of just for the sake of getting rid of him.

Ok. It doesn't matter. Ill coach the hawks from now on since it doesn't matter. I've been playing NHL videogames since 95, I know what I'm doing

like there aren't enough unemployed former NHL coaches...

Fire Q if he can't win a PO round. Compare Q to Lovie. Keep him and we accept mediocre play with mediocre results

when your special teams derail a season like they did last year and you have the talent the hawks do, them yea, coaching is an issue. not to mention the team looks like a disjointed mess the vast majority of the time. and for some reason, nobody ever goes in front of the net. don't even get me started on the limp Dick stick waving philosophy of the defense.

The Committed Indian just posted something about the coaching semi-drama at the end of last season.

http://thecommittedindian.com/well-w...over-his-head/

Quote:
While we will shout at the sky until the Earth ends that we are not journalists, that doesn’t mean we don’t know some people we trust with some inside contacts who get stuff. The following story comes from a very reliable friend of the program.

During exit-interviews with players last year, a significant number of them made it clear to Stan Bowman that they’d like to see Mike Kitchen fired out of the nearest cannon. You can probably guess why. However, after Stan and John McDonough discussed it, it was decided that the chain of command in the organization shouldn’t be uprooted for this, and that actually makes sense. Your president hires the GM, the GM hires the coach (though not in this instance and that’s part of the problem), your coach hires his staff. It’s how things should work.

When Stan and McD advised Q that the players weren’t exactly thrilled with everything on the coaching staff, Q decided to can Mike Haviland and keep his stooge Kitchen, and get to bring in another of his stooges in Kompon.
Basically more of the whispers we were hearing that everyone hates Mike Kitchen except Joel.

That's exactly what Q is saying but nontheless all indications are that we are in the midst of a dysfunctional team from the top on down.

Rocky needs to intervene and in no uncertain terms lay down the law that people do their jobs or the house will be cleaned. Yeah right.

I just hope that he is hungry for more and not merely satisfied with a full stadium again and a recent SC under his belt... so why rock the boat.

At this point, a very good possibility.
