Could Carl be brought in late in the season ala Radulov last season in Nashville if his team is eliminated quckly from post season?

Pretty sure the answer is yes he can....

Problem is he'll likely want to stick around Sweden and represent them in the world championships.

Unless, I suppose, his season ends and Chiarelli offers him a spot in the lineup down the stretch and into the playoffs (a la Radulov). Would he still be a UFA in July if he took advantage of that?

Anyways, I'll never get the vitriol for this kid. If you ask me, his career path has sort of worked out for him. He's peaking at just the right time (about to be a UFA), there's a copious amount of intrigue and mystery surrounding him in terms of NHL viability, and he could potentially cash in large because of all the timing. I hope that he winds up in a Bruins uniform, but I'm also realistic in the sense that it's likely not going to happen.
Ok, wake me up when his contract over there expires and he reports to the Bruins. ^_^ Otherwise this is just useless hype.

Does anyone know much about Bud Holloway who's leading the SEL in scoring right now?

Does LA still own his rights?

He's only 24 (25 in March), has decent size (6', 200lbs) and is tearing up a very strong league for the 2nd year in a row. Anyone know more about his all-around game, skating, toughness etc.?

It strikes me that all these Swedish stats should be taken with a grain of salt......

Skating? Yes good speed
Shot? Rocket
Toughness? No lacks it
Vision/passing? so so

Could make it in NHL? probably yes in the right team at the right time. But Söderberg is a better 2 way player, Bud is the sniper type

You need to wait a few seconds for it to load. If that doesn't work, just use Google Translate on the original.

I feel like I'm one of the those people who get abused and keep on coming back for more every time I get excited about Soderberg coming over.

Ah hell, why not.. "let's do this!"

Hopefully his loyal streak translates to Boston when he's a UFA this summer. Chia has been very patient and understandin with him, at least publicly. Lets hope it pays out.

Personally, I think the lure of big money is going to be too much to resist this time. My prediction...

The Good
He'll come over when his season ends and will really help the Bruins because, well, he's big, strong, fast and talented.

The Bad
He'll leverage his dominant SEL season and his brief but impressive NHL debut into a big pay day as an unrestricted free agent.

The Ugly
LSCII will revel in Crossfire's pain.

You know he's gonna stay in Sweden for the world championship, right? Not a lot of games left to play at the end of May...

If he helps us win another cup and then goes on his way it will all be worth it. #CarlforConnSmythe

I thought he'd be here for the playoffs which start in May (but I did think the World Championships were over earlier than that.)

Nah look at this quote from the article:
Quote:

Which says that he wants a one-way contract with decent money, but he also insists that he wants to be needed by the team and he have gotten the feeling that they want that.

Then he also says that wether or not he will get a ticket to the WC he propably will get an offer from the NHL. But it will be exciting to play in a WC.

Carl is a living legend for the Malmö supporters. Carrying a bad team with financial/coaching/player/everything- problem during a period he could have gone to the NHL or Elitserien instead. The lineup- Päjärvi-Söderberg-Burakowski would be fun to have in the NHL.
