I'm predicting a lopsided win for the Oilers... going on not much more than a gut feel and a hunch and the fact I think the Oilers are due to breakout offensively after being in an overall funk for a while now.

I'm hoping they switch Gagner and RNH on the 2 top lines to see if that can shake things up.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Arcobello can do at this level... I think he may surprise people and not look out of place on the roster.

I'd like to see some games eventually with Peckham, Eager and Fistric in the lineup together. I think the lack of grit and toughness is obviously a factor in the Oilers being too easy to play against now and the opponents gain the zone too easily... leading to the Oil getting outshot badly regularly in many games.

6-2 Oilers. Arcobello with a goal and assist.

I'd love to see Eager in the lineup.

When he plays hard, he is a difference maker out there.

Whitney not playing is nice, as he always seems to light up the Oilers.
We lost the last two "must win" games we needed to win to consider ourselves a playoff team. I wouldn't be shocked if we lost this one too.

I hope Jones instead of Eager. Eagers lost it, back to back seasons with a concussion. Whats the point of a player like him and can't back it up? Poor guy is rattled. Jones would be refreshing to see. Big flow of energy.

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer
Lines: Hall-Arcobello-Eberle, Yakupov-Gagner-Hemsky, Hordichuk-Smyth-Petrell, Hartikainen-Lander-Paajarvi. Potter/Whitney both in.

Under different circumstances, he might be able to play, but when you've got 8 (7 with Peckham in OKC) defensemen, you can afford to give a guy an extra day or two to lick his wounds. Besides, I don't think they want to have Whitney as a HS for too many games. One game sends a message, and his experience/history as a useful NHL defenseman earns him the chance to show that the message took.

Not a big fan of Arcobello centering the top line. It's one thing to do it in the AHL, but the NHL is a completely different ballgame. I wonder how long until those lines get shuffled.

But who knows, maybe Arcobello is our version of Desharnais.

The biggest issue I see is that Nuge isn't in the lineup at all. He'd better not be seriously hurt.

So with Nuge is the news so bad they don't want to talk about it?

I agree on Whitney, have to think if Fistric was to play it would be Potter sitting. But I don't think that's the case as Fistric appears out.

Yep. I posted that in the last gdt. It's pretty encouraging when you're missing 4/6ths of your bottom 6 and 2 dmen who would have been in the lineup fairly regularly. We're not the deepest team or anything, but its a massive improvement from a couple years ago

Like I said yesterday there is no point in bringing up Arcobello unless he's in the top 6. I would've picked VV as he plays the style that would help cover for the loss of horcoff/belanger, but if you are calling him up you might as well play him where he is best suited.

I do however think the same about shuffling.

I dunno about you, but IMO scratching our #1 C is not a very good way of making a point.

I've been thinking that for 2 days. I've been trying to get answers out of anyone that I could send a freaking message to in email or on twitter. Every reporter in the area, everyone. Noone would talk about Nuge, it was so weird. Only Staples did, and when I mentioned that it looked like Nuge hurt his shoulder, he just said "that could be very bad"
