I realize this is a bit of a mood killer but one thing absolutely scared the **** out of me tonight. Bryz wants a big work load, Bryz is showing us that he is the goalie we thought he would be. On the flip side Leights has shown us any luck he had in the nhl during the cup run is gone. The game is to fast for him, he looks lost back there.
Then it hit me, when Bryz had his legged wrapped around the pipe and was visibly in pain (for the second time this week) what if Bryz goes down for a few weeks? The change in goalie could easily be the difference between making the playoffs, or missing them.
This is the second time I thought Bryz was injured... scary to think of MFL as our starter... no, not scary, terrifying.
I am REALLY enjoying watching Bryz though. He is completely different than last year. Is it mental? or is he physically better?
The question with Bryz, including last season, was never about talent. He's proved how good he is over multiple seasons, and I don't buy that ******** about Phoenix's system because he was just as good over multiple coaches.
I think it's safe to say its a mental thing with Bryz. He seems more comfortable here, more focused and he actually seems to be enjoying himself. I didn't see any of that last year.
He's been on but god damn the options we have at backup. I literally was saying "cmon Bryz shake it off buddy if you go down so does the season" This team misses without Bryz. No discussion Boosh and Leights get us a shot at the #1 pick
Ilya Bryzgalov is in vezina mode. He looks unstoppable. That was 2 insanely fun hockey games to watch in a row. It's awesome having one of the best goalies in the league!
