Shanny already explained why Stoll wasn't suspended and it makes sense. He was on his heels and held up while Fowler leaned back into Stoll. The Dubinsky hit had a greater impact. Good to see the Kings defend their teammate unlike the Ducks.

Definite suspension. Saw his numbers from the blueline in and never let up.

What do you guys expect to happen when you're going mach 1 into the corner for a puck and the defender hunches down, head first, and all of a sudden becomes only 4 foot tall?

That, to me, is a body check. Rob Scuderi should know how to take those hits in the corner when going for the puck to ring it around the boards. Stand up and take the check and initiate contact, dude, don't duck your head and place your chin on the ledge to get smashed by a forechecker.

Unfortunate result and I am glad Scuderi's ok, but that body control was absolutely stupid on his part.

This is a classic trolling of the Kings fan base, Osprey. You are usually much more subtle, however.

I am not defending Dubinsky as I already voiced my opinion of his part on page 1.

However, can someone tell Scuderi to not go into the corner to play the puck hunched over and his head waist high? More out of concern for his wellbeing than anything else.

In-game penalty was enough but maybe a fine would cut it. A one-game also wouldn't bother me.

I know Shannaban gauges the suspensions on whether or not the player has a history.

If Dubinsky has no history= 1 game
If Dubinksy has a history= 3 games

I mean it's pretty clearly a boarding penalty, but I'm iffy on the major and possible suspension.

Scuds was bent over with head parallel to dasher.... If I was scuds I would of played the man instead of puck at that point. Hit before get hit.

However..... I think it is a penalty as Dubinski has to be responsible there. He cannot be following thru on that play. But I do not think it was dirty/malicious/suspendable, just fast moving play with a bad result.
Well said.

So glad I don't have to see Dubinsky's face in my division anymore, I hate the guy.

ya that's definitely a dirty hit. Scuderi had his back to him pretty much from the hash marks and Dubinsky just kept on going. Drove his head right in to the board. Definite suspension

To the people who think Scuderi shouldn't have been "hunched" over: have you ever put on a pair of skates? You bend at the knees and hips when you have to turn. Players do this all the time, you just don't notice it when they don't have their heads smashed into the boards.

If ducks fans aren't gonna let it go then I'm just gonna stop saying it was Stoll's fault and fowler leaned into it. Now we are both annoying

It should also be noted that when your in Scud's position and you're racing back for the puck, you have to bend your knees and bend down to A. Make the turn B. get a better position on the offensive player. It would be highly impossible for him to make that same play while skating normally in an upright manor.

Couldn't care less what shanny decides. Important part is that Richards stood up for his teammate and in the end they won the game.

True but usually when you are going into the corners you usually stop and trap the puck up against the boards. When most players I know of are hunched over in the corner are either when they lose their balance or there is nobody near them and they are skating the puck in behind the goal.

Many players pull up and the other guy traps them against the boards. For example, that's quite common when racing to touch up an icing.

I Wonder when it'd be announced how many games he's suspended for.
