You know what impresses me the most? of the 4 rookies who are leading the NHL

Tarasenko played 85 games in the last 2 years before graduating to St-Louis at the age of 21

Conacher played 129 games the past 2 seasons and is now a great player for Tampa at the age of 23

Yakupov played 70 game in the last 2 years before his start in the NHL at 19

Finally Galchenyuk managed 41 games these past 2 years and doing great at 18/19 years old... Oh! and he has the least ICE TIME of the 4

UNREAL!!!!

Markov should've gotten it... They should get rid of the fan voting system. It's a popularity contest now.

Agreed. The Molson Cup doesn't mean as much anymore.

Actually the Molson cup is based on the 3 stars system, so yeah fans vote for it.

P.S your right Markov should have it

They are probably razzing him about it right now. Pros could care less about who wins popularity contests. They all know Markov is the guy who has been the most important in this young winning season.

Isn't he the only one that didn't have any pro hockey experience before this NHL season started?
He's had the extra hurdle of having to learn to play with and against full grown men.

It is just a popularity contest.

They should give back the 3 star selection to the journalists OR just go public, and say it's all about Popularity, and not really on ice best performer.

Time to give him Pacioretty. Prust's lack of offensive zone IQ is killing the line.

Yeah, that should be over and done with. IT worked for a couple of games but I don't think that having Prust there is sustainable long term. Eller on that line did wonders for the short amount he played on it.

Let Prust do his thing in a non scoring role, where he can take as many penalties and fumbled passes as he wants, it doesn't look like the Gally's need much enforcement.

Who would you put on the top line? Not sure Pacioretty would be too happy there.

Eller on DDs's line. It's worth the try. Pacioretty would probably be happy if he gets PP time. It would add offense and balance our line up.

Agreed...I don't like seeing Prust there either. If the usual lines don't get going tonight, I'm hoping to see a bit of a shakeup. Why not try our most talented young centre with our most talented young winger for at least a game? Pacioretty and Galchenyuk could make wonderful music together...maybe today, and probably for years to come.

Therrien could try something like this maybe:

Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Desharnais - Eller - Cole
Prust - White - Moen/Armstrong

I like this lineup. Give the gallys a top line player and see what they can do. Both gallys were really bad last game though... Not sure about their consistency right now

That galchenyuk line would become pretty dangerous if you added a guy like max to it and gave them the same easy minutes they've been getting. The other two lines can hold their own at ES, I would imagine. I like it.

So it seems like Alex is going through his first ''rookie wall'' situation right now. Which is something that I expected, he's been on an emotional high for the last 5 weeks or so since the WJC. There was going to be a bit of a letdown at some point.

He's not playing bad or anything, but he's not as dangerous offensively as he was last week or the week before. The good thing is he's still pretty dependable out there.

Hoping his SO goal will give him a boot for a strong game against the Leafs.

Past few games he hasn't touched the puck a lot BUT doesn't make mistakes defensively either...
