Speaking of the Winnik show, I like the little shot he gets in at the Avs D and goaltending.
While that's only slightly disappointing to see from Winnik, it's hardly surprising, I don't think he left on "bad terms" but we weren't going to give him what he wanted in his next contract, and neither did SJ. He's playing for Anaheim right now, seems to like it and he DID compliment our scoring! Though that begs the question, "What Avs team has he been watching?"
And he's right, Special Teams will be key. If our PP continues to only function on the "Acme Iron Lung" (or Lifesupport, whichever), then we're not in for a good night.
We need our PK to be strong as well. Varly has played relatively well to win most of his game this year, but his team in front of him has let him down a couple of times as well.
Winnik answers all taken (Good ones at least [2G,3A is my forced pick] ), but I am thinking a good GDT poll should be who has the worst +/- today on the AVS. O'Byrne, Hunwick, O'Brien, Jones (if he plays, but he could probably get a - in the suite), and Stazz are must have entries IMO.
Newcomer forward Aaron Palushaj, claimed off waivers Tuesday from Montreal, passed a physical and skated with the team Wednesday morning. He will skate during warm-ups, but will be a game-time decision. Avs coach Joe Sacco might want to give him a couple days of practice time before putting him in the lineup.
