Semifinals round today with one match already in the books as Nigeria book a place in the final with an emphatic 4:1 victory over Mali. Nigeria are growing as this tournament goes on and they are heading into the final on red hot form

Ghana is currently tied 1:1 with Burkina Faso at the moment

Apparently Burkina Faso had never won a football match outside of their own country before this tournament. Ever. Now they're in the final.

Ghana's penalty kicks were awful, even the ones which they converted were poor efforts which the goalkeeper probably should have saved.

Burkina Faso were actually the better team so they deserve to be in the finals but they will be without Pitroipa due to a red card in this match and there were already without Alain Traore with injury

Nigeria has to be the favorites, they are growing in confidence and Burkina Faso has played both their knockout matches in extra time plus without their two best players. It is Burkina Faso's first final

I don't think thats true, but they have struggled big time in this competition other than when they hosted in 1998. I mean they were a top 40 team in the FIFA rankings a few years ago (I know that doesn't mean much but it must mean they won some games)

So they surely won away games

I missed the red card, is there any chance that it could rescinded?

he got it for diving, although there was contact. Not sure if they will, usually they don't rescind cards at major tournaments

Yeah they beat Namibia away a couple of years ago in a African Cup of nations qualifier, and there's probably several more...

3 Malian defenders playing against Ghana have the same last name - Coulibaly

And they aren't related

Tired of always picking Côte d’Ivoire. I picked them to be the African team to go the furthest in the 2010 World Cup. I'm done with them.

they seem too arrogant in the AFCON

but in the two World Cups they both times were put in tough groups

Nigeria having most of the ball so far with 35 minutes gone but still 0:0, Burkina Faso haven't really started and could say that they are happy they aren't losing with the start they've had
