Hey! Don't make it so obvious! Let's call him "V. Islander"... No no wait, that's too obvious. "Zamboni M". There, that should do.

Oh good lord

"The Sabre" posted "the well run drafts don't have bickering like this. I'm out."

I had to get him and zamboni back with PMs to stay at 40 teams.

Laughing in real life.

It's in the same breathe as praising his own picks , but didn't he actually CRITICIZED some of them too? To give some credibility to his characters?

I can't confirm or deny that, but searching for posts by vanislander containing the words vanislander or zamboni mania might answer that for you.

Agreed. Although I've never seen so many vets using their full clocks and (partially due to almost no one leaving lists with more than 1 name) there have been no small bursts of 4-6 picks in an hour. It's been around 3-6 picks a day consistently. Round 6 on February 6th is not exactly fast.

It's the parity in the draft, man. Before, you could always count on getting steals, and you snap up steals fast. Now, steals are few and far between.

I read that he also played the point with Bentley on Toronto's power play. edit:I lied, his partner wasn't ahead of him the only year he didn't lead TOR's defense in AST voting, was looking at the wrong one.

He was also supposedly a leader on the team, but he was only captain for one year though after being shipped to Chicago because of his role in forming the player's union.

Pittsburgh selects LW, Sweeney Schriner

He led the league in scoring twice as a member of the lowly New York Americans and was an excellent puckhandler. I don't know much more other than the joke he made about not backchecking and am interested to learn more.
Excellent pick. This is who we almost took instead of Bill Durnan.

His offensive resume speaks for itself. The fact that he was 1st, 1st, and 2nd in scoring without getting a single Hart vote is pretty strange. That's what scared me off, which is the reason I thought Durnan was the way to to.

I think you did well with this pick, and I hope you can put together a great bio.

I considered Pulford , but I think the drop was warranted due to too many uncertainties. At this point he's a good pick but he's so hard to judge.

I think he's a passable #2 and a very strong #3. His skill set is very valuable in a draft like this.

I wanted to wait for you to confirm this is who you meant, even though I was pretty sure it was. Check out the Hart voting for "Dave Schriner" it's only one year, but I'll look more closely to see who was ahead of him his other excellent years.

If I made a list of 2-3 guys for my last pick, he'd have been on it.

Shouldn't be too hard to judge. His strengths and weaknesses were pretty well established.

He's definately behind Hod Stuart for his era, but Pulford was pretty good for a very long time.

Leafs shortlist was Sweeney Schriner, and so was mine. I've sent him a few texts so I'm just waiting to hear back. I'm going to an AHL game here in St. John's tonight so I'd say we might be looking at a few hours until I pick

He was my BDA, and I thought I was well overdue getting a #2. Still, if that damn St.Louis were still available, you'd probably have seen the most forward-oriented first 7 picks ever

I think the justification for Harvey Pulford as a top 60 defenseman is very thin and if I was voting again today, I would not vote for him like I did last time.

He was very good (for his era at least) for a long time, but I have never seen him referred to as anything like a superstar in his time. Maybe you can find something new on him.

I am from St. John's! I've lived in Halifax since 2007 for university, but I'm back home now.

People really gotta send a list that is 4 or 5 names deep to assure a pick.

Isn't the all-star team evidence that he was a star?

I'd be surprised if you found much that isn't in his bio from last year.

Yeah I'm a Newfoundlander, not from town though. From a small town about 3 hours outside St.John's. Also I'll message Leaf Lander on Facebook as well and tell him he's up.

I also agree that people should leave lists of more than 1 or 2 names.

isnt it ironic that the guy who tried to rush the draft, never is around?
