Highly unlikely that anyone wants Martin gone this season. If his contract becomes a problem, it´ll be dealt with in the summer.
That won't do it, I think if he gets traded it will have to include something significant.
Martin + 1st would be my bet, and I still think that possibly a lower end prospect swap could be made with it.

I don't think that's a fair assessment of what fair value would be for a guy who is going to be a UFA.
How much did you guys get for Ponikarovsky? Antropov? I think you're looking at similar prices for a guy like Kulemin.

After putting up 30G, he disappointed with seven in 70 games. Now with one in ten, he's on the exact same pace.
Don't forget 5 assists. 6 points in 10 games

We both know if kulemin went to the pens he resigns in a heartbeat to play with Gino.

He's not a UFA.
He's got another year in 2013-14 where hes making a reasonable 3M on a 2.8M cap hit.

Not sure it makes sense as far as what can come back to Toronto, unless it's a 1'st round pick and an A prospect. Don't think Pitt can subtract from roster while making meaningful compensation to TO.

I'd rather not move Kulie.
Sutter is an overpayment.
But I'm not a huge Sutter fan, since he wouldn't have a real role in Toronto.
Not a 1st line C, 2nd line C we have Grabo/Kadri, 3rd line C we have McClement.
He'd be an upgrade over McClement, but it's not worth losing Kulie to upgrade McClement to Sutter on the 3rd line.

Kule plays on a shutdown line. the year he had 30 goals that line was offense. Kule with Malkin and Neal trust me best line in the nhl. Kule is one of the best defensive fowards in the nhl he is a strong man he is a workhorse. Kule could pop 30 with malkin and neal he would create TONS of room. I love Kule one of my fav players but if the price is right do the deal. Pens fans would love this guy with in thier lineup.

I don`t think you are getting a top4D + 1st + for Kulemin, but if you do, it will hopefully from another team and I will be happy for you all then.

and i'd be fine with that. he's a natural center anyway and him + for Kulemin would force the Pens to move only one roster player when Niskanen comes back instead of two.

what makes you think the Pens would want to resign a guy with 8 goals in his last 82 games?

He is not UFA. His deal expires in 2013-14.
That's enough time to negotiate a long term deal if he were ever traded..

You don't think the connection between the two would play into the decision. Here's a new contract to play with Malkin oh and by the way there's some guy named Crosby on the team and you have a chance at the cup every year. What would you say?
