I know he's your mentor and all Dean, but you really didn't have to do Lou this favor.

Good trade for the Devils. Loktionov could really surprise.

I was gonna say that that's a terrible return but NJ are one of the team's that he won't do well in imo. I expect him to be KHL bound where he'll score 0.8ish ppg.

Not sure how literally you mean that. If you mean with the team, I agree. I doubt the same line, at least yet. Henrique is centering Elias and Clarkson, and that line combined for 3 goals, 4 assists, last night. Also both seem to benefit more from playing center than wing.

How he plays in NJ has nothing to do with his return. If he excels or busts, the return is exactly the same.

WOW. LA should've gotten a lot more.

Also, really did not expect the Devils.

He's going to have to play center in a top 6 role to be effective and he wasn't going to get that chance with LA. I don't see where he fits in NJ either.

A 5th rounder? I'm in shock actually.

But we did beat the Devils for the cup... so fine.

Damn, I hoped the Blues would at least take a shot here...Could be a decent deal with New Jersey's wingers.

I think this is Lombardi helping an old friend who he just beat for the Stanley Cup. Lombardi was mentored by Lou and thinks very highly of him. I'm sure there were other offers.

Loktionov + middling draft pick for Tallinder was my thought when contemplating a NJD & LAK exchange.

Hopefully Loki gets some time in the Top 6/9 to prove himself.

Lou getting some pay back for Deano for driving up Kovy's asking price a couple years ago.

DL didnt drive up the price, the kings offer was like 15 million less. lou was bidding against himself.

We're likely going to deal a D-man for a top 9 winger. Ideally that makes our 3rd line a young, skill line similar to a typical top 6 line.

Zubrus - Kovy - Zajac
Elias - Henrique - Clarkson
Josefson - Loktionov - Butler
Carter - Gionta - Bernier

Looks good for now. I'm sure Lou isn't completely finished yet. Would be nice to land 2nd liner which would allow Clarkson to play on the 3rd line.

Wow, any way you slice it Loktionov has a much better chance of making an impact in the NHL than a 5th rounder. Surprised no other team was willing to offer a 4th at least.

On a scale of Datsyuk to Gaborik, how is Loktionov on defense?

I would have given LA more than a 5th for Lokti. Wow.
