Just my perspective.
Kulemin is a strong defensive player, that can and does play the body. Bottom line: Kulemin is an effective player and fits well into the Leafs now and in the future. If he's moving it's for a similar player Sutter or and overpayment of prospects -- think a first + a good young player. There is simply no need from a Leaf player to move this guy for spare parts. If a team doesn't want to pay -- the Leafs will gladly keep him.

Oh ,i would not go as far to say Sutter is better defensively, from what i have seen, i'd put them at par, with Sutter holding the more important position.

Phil needs lupul. If you put sutter with phil do you think he would do any better? i doubt it.

Oh please. Get over yourself. The point I was making is that a trade with the two players involved is not laughable.

Exactly my thought. Pitts came to Leafs. Leafs hold upper hand. Have no reason to trade Kulemin, as he fits Carlyles system to a "T". I'd rather see him goto my Devils, but Kulemin would make any team in the NHL better IMO

One of the above + 1st or no chance. Kulemin with Malkin was awesome in KHL.

your first one is closer than your second one, which I assume is the basis for an upcoming CTV sitcom.

Kennedy has no spot on the Leafs.

I didn't say he was better offensively. I said I'd rather have the guy that is good defensively that can contribute offensively (Sutter). Bozak has scored more points, but he has been paired with better players throughout his career. He is also older, and bad defensively.

I suggest he would be your best defensive winger that can also add offense.

I don't want him to leave TO but if he was to skate with Malkin, oh my.

I could honestly see selke rumblings.

Look at Dupuis before the Pens got him...why can't he be re-signed for 2-3 years on a 3M/year deal with the Pens?
No worries, I knew it was a joke. I was going for joking too. Don`t want MacArthur, he may not be total garbage, but we don`t even need any more Dupuis like players, we need much better ones.

I dont want to lose Kulemin. He is the kind of player who I enjoy watching even when he does not produce points.

I want Morrow + a pick, preferably a 1st but I can understand why Pen fans would not do that, and I am perfectly fine with that to.

You DO KNOW that Sutter is a 3rd line defensive center and only put up 20 points LESS than your supposedly amazing "top 6 winger" in Kulemin... RIGHT!?

Sutter >>> Kulemin when you factor in what he bring to the pens (age, cap, role, PK, etc. etc.)

I get it that there is little to nothing to be really excited about in Toronto with the Leafs, but lets me real here people when discussing hockey trades.

AHH NO! his O is more of a 50/50 split of goals and assists.

There are no roster players on the Pens that would be included in the deal and certainly not Kennedy. None of them (that Pens would consider moving) helps us now or in the future. Picks and prospects is what Leafs needs.

Kulemin is only 26 -- don't make it sound like he's 40. He also plays an effective checking style and plays on the PK. He does not get 1st PP times -- in fact rarely sees the PP yet he has a 30 goal season under his belt. All those intangibles you find in Sutter you'll see in Kulemin. The only difference is he plays center.

Any deal is going to be a mixture of futures with a salary dump if need be. Dump has to be on an expiring contract.

Honestly this could be because I am a huge supporter of Kulemin but Sutter is who I would want in return. I understand why Pitts would say no but he is the only one I ever really see drive the net constantly and we kind of need those guys.
