There is too much scolling to do and everything is too big. Can't believe they put 1 year into that.
Did they really put a year on it? Coulda gotten that **** done within 3-6 months with the right team and it would look a zillion times better.
The thing that bothers me most about the layout is that it's a pain in the ass to get to where you wanna go, I haven't visited the site since this morning and I dont think I will again if that **** isnt fixed. I can get my info on the english media, it's not like I'm gonna miss Bertrand Raymond and the other wannabes.
Whoever made it doesn't know much about web design either.
Nowadays it's all about esthetics, ergonomics and intuitivity, none of which are even remotely present in this site.
It always was, and always will be about content. Right now when I open the new RDS site I see only 5 headlines, and a huge waste of browser real estate. There's too much fluff and no information.
The main box on top is 820px × 440px, yet you have to mouse over it to see the subtitle, additional info or text. Why??
The good side is the use of HTML 5, but that's all under the hood stuff no one really cares about.

Yep that's the comment I gave them about the site. The content is lost, it takes too many clicks and brain cycles to figure out how to obtain it.

We're not in 1996 anymore, of course content is the most important part of a website, but things have evolved since. In this day and age with the amount of competition involved a web stite's content needs to be readily accessible AND visually pleasing, otherwise your target audience will just go to another website offering similar content that is well laid out and ergonomic, it's as simple as that.
First thing I thought was Microsoft Metro Windows 8.
Then I thought that the web is getting more and more mobile.
Then I came back to earth and realized it was still going to be the same contributors and content, and reminded myself there are much better sites for information, no matter what their design is.
I can't believe how they allowed this **** to become their official website. It's at amateurish level and I'm being nice. The website is completely useless, I have absolutely nothing good to say about. I used to check it everyday, I won't visit their website until they fix this crap.
