Has HF Boards become like the media trying to create controversy and putting twists to the truth?
It doesn't change the fact that he still banned a completely innocuous celebration that nobody in their right mind would be offended by.

I taught my dog the triple low five after it was banned in Montreal. My dog loves it.

When Therien was asked about the banned celebration, he went on to say that he wanted to help PK become a better person. That is a thinly veiled criticism at best. I guess we have to assume that he believes that Price is already a good person but is being subverted by the evil PK Subban as he has not been mentioned at all in this. Or there could be something else at play here.

The good news is, no one will be talking about this anymore after the weekend. We all have short memories.

Subban and Price should start celebrating with the Fresh Prince/Jazz handshake.

I like the Habs but now kinda feel jaded because I really don't like how Subban is treated, and therrien is crap.

I have a feeling it probably was addressed internally, a public press release feels like escalation to me. Whats to say that someone didn't mention it to him in private, or even a teammate.

PK strikes me as a polarizing player in the room, I can easily see the captain addressing the issue on behalf of the staff or other players and PK totally disregarding it, making it an issue that the coach has to step in with a nuclear deterrent on for the sake of the room.

One could argue that PK made PK a target. His nonstop shenanigans since he entered the league has put him on many peoples bad boy lists. Curbing the celebration seems like a "ok, you're signed now, get your **** together and be a professional" nip this in the bud type of message, not necessarily about the celebration itself.

If thats the case I totally agree with the message that it sends. It forces him to realize that he is an eyesore for the org, and he needs to change his attitude if he wants to be a part of it.

I would take probably 20 coaches in this league over Noel, but Therrien is one of the other 9 that I would never, EVER consider for my team.

Looks like Subban will be a free agent after his contract is over, why would he want to go back there?

I feel Subban is not himself. He didn't have that energy or enthusiasm in his games back.

I could see him getting traded in the not-so-distant future despite resigning, especially if he's butting heads with management. No player is above the team and if he's alienated himself, look for him to be shown the door.

Probably because he loves the city and he'll easily outlast any coach here?

How dare hockey players have interesting character traits and do something amusing. I can see WHY a couch wouldn't want them to, but this seems like making an issue out of something when it wasn't before.

I'm not remotely a Habs fan, but gotta say this is lame. I like when the NHL has these 'characters'.

I dunno where your looking because he would still have 2 RFA years after this contract is up.

It was, it was actually Price that told the media, they were asking him about Subban being back etc.

Then media asked MT about it, and he addressed it.

I don't see how Subban's done anything. Michel Therrien went in there with a pre-conceived notion that Subban needed 'fixing'; a notion that was probably initiated while he was on that Antichambre talk show with a bunch of other crabby old white french men last year.

I don't see how Subban's done anything that would imply he's put himself before the team. He signed a ridiculously low contract, and focused on his D game last year when the team needed him to be a more complete player (finishing plus 9 on a basement dwelling team).

Hard to complain with the results the Habs are getting and I'm liking MT's treatment of the rookies and the other guys in general, but I really don't like how he's handling Subban - one of our top young guns.

He won't be. He will still be RFA.

Why would he want to leave just because of this childish celebration trick ?

PK has to put the TEAM first in his priority. That's all that is demanded from him.

Wow. 14 pages on this stupid ****.

It's banned because it's excessive and could be misconstrued by the other team as taunting. No one player, or two, is bigger than the team so they should act accordingly.

This reminds me of that time Dion Phaneuf walked into the Saddledome without his tie done up properly and Cherry ripped him a new one on Coach's Corner. Next game, Phaneuf walked in looking tidier than a mofo.
