Bruins are lucky to get out of this 0-0 they were dominated.

Rask bailed them out 3 times easily.

I like the guy, but I just don't see Gionta playing with us much longer with the kind of gameplan we have. I just don't. He's visibly a step or two behind the other guys out there.

As for the rest of this thread, wow are you guys ever bipolar. We beat some teams without Pacioretty and Subban. The Bruins might be without Paille, Thornton and Marchand, but they're still an NHL team. Settle down and let it play out.

I wish Subban stopped winding it up like it's NHL 2002

Rask is good, but there's no reason for armstrong to have missed that shot. That's ridiculous.

We played good but who's the idiot who decided to split Diaz and Markov on the PP? I can't stand seeing Subban shooting like a maniac outthere. It's like the only play he has in his brain.

He should not be playing the PP with Markov. Subban is not good enough to be taking away time from Markov, put him on the second PP unit with Kaberle if he wants to shoot all day.

It doesn't have to do with quickness on his feet. He's just not a player that fits a heavy forechecking team's mentality. As he gets older, he's also visibly weaker on the puck.

And this is why, ultimately, I see the guy topping up as a 40-45 points defenseman. He might have surpassed his potential defensively, but offensively, he just doesn't have it in him to be anything more than that. Which is, by the way, still very good a worthy of a decent #1 d-man.

Does Carbonneau know how to speak French?! Nothing against him but listening to him is pretty tedious. Dare I say Brunet expressed himself better than Carbo?

we're much faster than boston. they're trapping in the neutral zone, dump and chase, pass back to defense, shoot, rinse and repeat. this is their game

Oh come on. When they get their timings down Subban is going to be excellent next to Markov. When Subban doesn't have Spatcho/Hamrlik pincing opposite him, he doesn't have to worry about a million breakaways on Price and can focus on his own game.

I agree, Subban's ceiling is as a 40 point elite defender.

Which would still make him one of the best in the league.

You're not wrong but I hope the D coach would tell him to do something else on the ice other than a big shot. He's like AO in term of predictability.

So, a top10 defenseman in the league? I got no problem with him topping out as that.

It's not just a matter of telling the guy to do something else. It's about the guy actually SEEING something else to do out there. Though, he certainly could alter the speed of his shot and pull a wrister from time to time. His pinch-game is non-existant also, which speaks a lot about the guy. He's a great athlete with wonderful hands, but as far as hockey sense goes, he's not the best out there.
