Love the move if true.

And If it is true... My god all of Homer's contract talks have the strangest timing.

I can deal with that cap number for 1 year. Looks like we save a little over 300K compared to this year's cap hit.

With Pronger going on LTIR, the Flyers will have about 7 million in room next year for free agency. No matter how we like this team, there will be trades. Especially if Homer wants to sure up the back end.

$6M seems a little high, but I guess it is worth it.

That is quite the high number for him. But it is only one year. He'll be a good mentor for Jones .

That's too much. Not thrilled. I guess our options are limited, but really limits our ability to improve this team.

6 mil is high but there is really nobody better as a UFA this year. Pllus it is also doubling down on Luke Schenn, as having a stable veteran partner for two years can only help his development.

This years UFA period could be crazy. I wouldn't be surprised with the new cap on years that you might see Perry get close to 9 mil cap hit and someone like Streit or Hainsey get over 5 mil a year. 6 mil might not be that crazy when all is said and done.

In a league where Matt Carle makes 5.5m, not sure i understand why 6m for Kimmo freakin Timonen is ridiculous.

Also keep in mind that the cap is dropping by about $6M, so the effect is equivalent to like ~$6.55M this season.

If you want good defensemen, you have to pay up. Period.

UFA market doesn't have anyone better out there.

Timonen is no longer a 6m per year quality defenseman. Sucks cause I really like him, but he's not who he used to be.

Sounds familiar....Carle...cough...cough!

Of course Carle is complete garbage to a lot of people.

Anyway...it's one year for Timonen..Carle's contract was obviously more years but he still fit a need regardless. Would have liked 4.5 to 5M for Timonen but what can you do...6m is a lot but guy has been a good soldier...prolly why he's getting this one year bonus of sorts.

If that number is right unless there are significant moves this offseason there wont be any names of note added
