On the flip side it's great to see so much talent on the ice. But it's not a guarantee the most talented team wins in a short tournament. There are still other countries that have elite talent. Russia, Sweden, USA, Czech Rep. all have teams that can win gold as well.

You said you picked the "right" guys over the "best" guys. Kane on the top line and James Neal not even on the team?

Hamhuis could be a good extra. Solid skater on a big ice surface. Good defensively, not offensive at all.

Put Kane with Crosby or Malkin and he'd be there as well.

Anyone not having Luongo starting is wrong.

Or you can have the better goalie in Carey Price playing and be right.

Neal didn't fit my puzzle. This is a real team that's going to compete in intense competition, it's not an all-star game. Neal might be better than some players I picked but it just wasn't in my plans. I think Kane would go ape **** on Crosby's wing and fits the team's makeup better.

Neal would make alot of teams. It all depends on what kinda team you wanna have and what kinda lines you wanna have. Canada's depth gives you the freedom to build different teams at your whim.

Last season Evander Kane became the 12th player since 2000 to score 30 goals in a season and be 20 years old or younger. The others were:
Bergeron, Crosby, Gaborik, Kopitar, Kovalchuk, Malkin, Nash, Ovechkin, Skinner, Stamkos, and Toews.

As a Canucks fan, I'd like to throw Hamhuis' name in there.

Left handed, versatile guy.

Might not be a huge impact guy but would be a steady partner and would most likely finish as an unsung hero type guy.

See WJC. The Allstar team will get beat by the hockey team

Nahh...I am the biggest Canadian hockey fan out there, but we are not really ahead of any of the top six teams. Deeper, yeah I think so, but any country in the top six can put a competative team of 23 players together and beat Canada.

You need to get to the gold medal game first before you worry about the final 10 minutes. I'll take the better 2 way player in Spezza in any situation. If Richards is so clutch were was he in the playoffs every year? He's a hard worker but not fast enough and provides almost no offense.
Really?

Hypothetical question: Lets say Chicago goes deep in the playoffs, and Crawford continues his strong play, does he get an invite to the camp?

I think so. Mike Smith too. There is talk that the rosters may be expanded to 25 players, so I think there will be a lot of guys out there who normally wouldn't get an invite showing up to the orientation camp in August.

I think Finland has really dropped off over the years, I know they placed 3rd in 2010 but looking at their potential roster it looks very weak. Only 21 Finnish players in the NHL right now and a lot of those guys are going to be pretty old by 2014 (Selanne, S. Koivu, Salo, Timonen) they would certainly be huge underdogs to win Gold.

Adam Burish should be on the Olympic team. Your argument is invalid.
