The only players on the ice that look like they care this year consistantly are

Pap
Duchene
Mitchell
Bordeleau
Johnson
Wilson
Varlamov
Giguere

Everyone else has been very lack luster.

This game is so boring to watch. I miss our run-and-gun days when Sacco first got hired on. Sure we sucked too back then, but at least it was entertaining.

.. think I'll go watch the Oilers game

2nd period guess is Bords gets 2 shifts and Sgar gets 4 on even strength.

It's really kind of sad that Duchene has finally found his game, and is taking charge of this team, but no one wants to help him. He needs to gain that confidence from him playing well, and the team winning or I'm worried he's gonna start pressing too much again and lose his rhythm.

I hear Seth Jones growing up loved the Avs. Is this true?

Sad that the highlight of the game so far was Mike Haines asking Milan Hejduk if he'd play 5 more years until he's 42 like Teamu Selanne

Yep. We need point shot. I remember those good old days when we had Rob Blake. **** that shot was awesome.

I hope hes not watching our current team, because his love might fade.

Sell this franchise, Kroenke. Please. I'll beg in public. I will literally grovel at your feet and beg you to sell to someone that cares about hockey. You can still have the Nuggets, just ******* stop wasting the fans', who love this team, time.

The sad part of Joe Sacco's tenure. The team can play well, and periodically does play very well for him, and within his system. They do it 1/3 of the time. Seems to me that they have no respect for him. If they did, they wouldn't lie down and play like **** so often. It is embarrassing.

The Avs PP game plan is awful for setting up the shot. To set up a good shooting PP you need players that are getting open elsewhere on the ice so that the opposition can't cheat up on the point men. The Avs on the other hand basically are holding hands and telegraphing passes. Other teams also know that only EJ has a shot back there...not really that hard to stop when you can just stand by the guy.

Not too mention he isn't on his proper side. Put him on the left side so he can 1 time it! It is beyond stupid. He will always have his shot blocked if he has to corral the puck and then shoot it.

They seem to play well in spite of him, not because of him. For a while I thought that he had a pretty good system, focused on using the teams speed and young enthusiasm to get the job done. However, over the last two-three seasons I've growingly noticed that the Avs no longer seem to be able to pass...at all. Literally a few games ago I watched as McGinn...who was about 4 feet away from Barrie, touching distance away...lobbed a pass 5 foot in front of Barrie.

I don't know how Sacco runs practices, or what he even practices, but apparently it has nothing to do with actual hockey skills.

Avalanche goals from defensemen this year: zero
It really sucks, but is anyone ACTUALLY surprised that our blue line hasn't scored a single goal in 10 games?

This too, seriously bad setup on the PP by the Avs.

We're so bad. I'm sitting next to Walter, Andrew, and Elaine Winnik watching this. This is PAINFUL biting my lip. Going to go home at second intermission if this continues.

I responded to that...saying that I'd like the Defensemen to worry about defense first at this point, then we can worry about the offense from them

You also need defensemen capable of QB'ing a power play and able to hold it in the zone. We don't have defensemen who can do either.

Would anyone be surprised if they are still at 0 after 48 games?

Not at all. They aren't really setting up EJ to succeed offensively. The rest of the consistent roster dmen includes Hejda, O'Byrne, and Zanon...not exactly offensive dynamos.
