In the SHanahan thread it says that they offered a bit over 2.8 million so probebly around 3.2 million for 2 years. Plus the Bruins are pretty tight in cap space (after they sign their RFAs. If Shanahan doesn't sign with us then the only thing to beleive is either that he never wanted to play fro us or that BG never offered him anything serious.

shanahan is looking for a 3 year deal that pays hiim around 5 million per year. considering the habs tax situation he's looking for something that pays him 6 million a year.

that's wayyyyyyyyyy too much money.
bruins can have him and i'll be glad to see gainey play a prominent role in screwing over the bruins cap situation for yearssssss.

if that's the case, then it's too much, i'd say.

4.5 for 3 years would be okay in my book.

3 years is too long, maybe 2. if it's 3, it should be a team option.

Bergeron doesn't like Montreal. I don't see him signing an RFA offer sheet here. He wouldn't be that eager to come.

LINK? 5.5 per year for 3 years seems to be a lot for Shanahan...

It might also change my mind about giving him that offer sheet.

glad you're not the GM.
ovechkin doesn't even make a third of that.

I highly doubt Boston made an offer of $4 million per.

Boston has over $34 million already in salary for 12 players. That leaves $10 mil available for 11 players.

They have buyouts for McEachern and Green on the books and have not re-signed RFA Bergeron.

What I think is this, Gainey has the best offer in. Shanahan is waiting to see if Boston can match. I really do not think they will be able to in the end, they are now in cap hell giving $12.5 mil to Chara/Savard.

yeah sure.. give 6.5 millions to Bergeron... give 4 first round draft picks to Boston... and then, say that Brad Richards' signing with Tampa was stupid..

Zhamnov will not be on the books so that makes $29807000 spent on 11 players. You can add Alberts,M. Stuart and Jurcina for a million total. Thats 14 players for under $31 million. That leaves about $13 million for Bergeron, Boyes, Shanahan and a few 4th liners and a 7th defenseman. It can be done easily.

As I said before if Boston gets Shanny then Bob should put a $4.95 million for six years offer on Bergy. I'm guessing Boston would match but they would then have probably a little over $20 million locked in Chara, Shanny, Bergy and Savard would be to watch them squirm.

Forgot throw in a no trade clause and it locks down his contract even more.

I think we've all just figured out Lou Lamouriello's secret HF Boards posting identity.
