Yeah, I agree.. don't get why they haven't retired McGee's number.. I mean no one's gonna wear #51 again anyways.. just retire it

McGee's number aint retired because they only retire Hall Of Famer's I believe. TLR is the only exception and I think it's safe to say he gets in eventually. I agree with you though, if they ain't gonna let anyone wear it again, then they might as well just retire it.

The next number retired will probably be Pujols. I don't care that he left. Those 11 seasons were some of the greatest in the history of baseball and he contributed to 2 World Series titles (3 appearances). #5 should never be worn again and should be on the LF wall in 42 years when his contract with LAAAAAAAA is up.

"When cops arrived to the scene, police say they saw Helton stumbling out of the gas station — stinking of booze — and clutching lottery tickets in his hand."

A man with a net worth of over $50 million......drives drunk to buy lottery tix.

That definitely is not true. See Ken Boyer.

Ironically, Arrieta had some of his best peripheral stats last season, posting career bests in WHIP (1.37), walks per nine innings (2.7) and strikeouts per nine innings (8.6). Tampa's Matt Moore had a 1.35 WHIP last year, walked 4.1 batters per nine innings, yet was 11-11 with a 3.81 ERA.

So why did Arrieta post such a high ERA? One reason was his struggles against left-handed batters, who hit .291 with an OPS of .846 against him.
Interesting.

Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal
Source: #Diamondbacks agree to three-year, $35M extension with second baseman Aaron Hill. First reported by @Buster_ESPN.

Combine this with the Prado contract (4 years/40 M) and it just seems like a lot risk for a mid-market team.

Kevin Towers has had one of the worst off-seasons I can ever recall. Just a disaster.

Aaron Hill had a great year..

but knowing him he'll probably have an average year this season considering how inconsistent he is

joe saunders to the mariners is basically done.

they traded vargas for morales and then signed older vargas in saunders.

pretty good work. 1 year deal for saunders, even with safeco moving in the fences? pretty, pretty, pretty good.

I could see one or the other (Prado preferably, positional value, just traded for him ). Both is pretty ridiculous.

What the team really needs is a SS. Probably bottom 5 in terms of the starter in the league.

Looks like Giambi is close to signing a minor league deal with the Indians per Denver Post writer

I assume there is.

I know that passed out drunk position when I see it. His head was sinking in towards his chest making himself look like a fat slob.
