Kessel + Raycroft To Boston

Seguin + Hamiliton + Rask To Toronto...

We will even let them keep Jared Knight as a freebie

What about a deal around Kessel for Ovechkin?

If there is any team who could afford AO's contract it's the leafs.

I'd be interested in something like:

WSH:
- Kessel
- Bozak
- Liles

TOR:
- Ovechkin
- Conditional 3rd (if Bozi resigns)

(maybe change a few things around)

Ovechkin/Bozak. That just sounds really, really too mind-altering to even think about.

I concede the new ownership might think that was a really good idea. It wouldn't be, but nothing to worry about as it ain't gonna happen anyway.

If Anaheim is pessimistic about signing Perry to an extension this offseason, would they be interested in a sign-and-trade?

I'd send Kessel + Bozak + Finn to Anaheim for Perry + Gibson.

It could be a very similar deal to the Hossa-Heatley swap between Atlanta and Ottawa.

don't think Toronto can risk Perry walking and lose Kessel for it.

Prefer to give up blacker, Holzer, or even Percy instead of Finn

But I'd probably do it. Risky if perry walks though

Sign-and-trade, I mean. Perry is from nearby Peterborough and was a Leafs fan growing up.

Um no.

Rielly will be our Letang-like Dman. That 1st will be top 5-10. Kulemin isn't getting thrown into a package unless its for a legit #1 C

i would puke if this happened.

i'd rather see nonis try to swing something around kessel and grabovski to the ducks for getzlaf and perry, if they won't re-sign in anahiem that is.

As much as I like Letang, I wouldn't do this deal in a thousand years.

What is or isn't a good deal is subjective. What may seem like a good deal to you could look like underpayment to the Leafs.

What makes him not suitable to play in Toronto?

We're overrating Kessel? I say you're under rating him because he plays for the Leafs.

What makes you so sure he doesn't want to re-sign?

Sure this may be his peak value, but that doesn't mean we have to trade him.
Obviously you have a much lower standard of a player who should be considered untouchable than I do. Kessel is not an untouchable player. You just think that because he is the best player that the Leafs currently have.

He's not suited to play in Toronto because he obviously hates the spotlight that goes along with it. Look at him in every interview. He looks like he'd rather be undergoing dental surgery than talking to the media. I just think that he's a guy who would be much more comfortable in a market where hockey isn't that big.

I'm not suggesting that the Leafs should trade him for a bag of pucks, but if a good deal comes along they should take it.

I doubt very much that he wants to re-sign, and if he did that the Leafs would have to overpay for him. I don't think he's worth it. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but I have been watching him since he was in college, and I just don't see why you guys are talking about him like he's one of the best players in the league. Newsflash: he's not.

Face it guys he's not that great, and consider the possibility that trading him just might be in the best interests of the Leafs.

While Letang is a great player, another puck moving D isnt exactly a top priority for the leafs

If they were to get rid of Kessel it would have to be for a #1C/#D or a goalie

Leafs wont trade Kessel... any possible move they make would be lateral unless theyre blowing up the team (which doesnt make sense cause Kessel is only 25)

Letang is great but this isn't the smartest move for Toronto. I think it'll be a high 1st in a deep draft.

Newsflash: he was a point per game player with 35+ goals on a garbage team playing with a scrub as a centerman feeding him the puck.

he may be the leafs best player but that doesnt diminish his talent. he had 82 points last year... thats an undeniable fact

6th in the league in points and 7th in goals DOES make him one of the best players in the league

hater

Lets pretend there is no possible package of Leafs players that nets Malkin and work from there.

Yeah, Bobby Ryan's 57 points last year really brings the value up over the top

Bozak had 47 points himself

Imagine how many more than 82 points Kessel would've put up if he was playing with Getzlaf rather than Bozak
