Parity? I wouldn't go that far, you could name a few franchises who make it every year to the postseason, thats not "parity"

They were the 4th best team in the AFC during the regular season. Out of 16. That's pretty good, no matter how hard you try to rationalize it to the contrary.
Not knocking but that doesn't make them a good team, hell the difference beteen them and the Bills is minimal. The bills lost 4 close games that could have went either way and the Ravens won 4 that could have gone either way. That shows you that difference isn't as much as people might think.

You're making the same mistake with the idea of "parity" that many people do with the idea of "random". In a perfect world of parity, it seems you expect every team makes the playoffs the same amount over the long term.

Parity allows that to happen, it does not require it.

But when the Ravens keep winning those 4 close games each year and the Bills keep losing them, don't you wonder why? It's not luck.

We're looking at a team the with enter the season with Reed and Lewis (Reed is too expensive for Baltimore) and their best player is coming back from an ACL tear.... If Boldin is cut/traded this team will fall behind early and Flacco will start forcing throws. Flacco deserves a lot of credit for his playoff run but he played three AFC teams that were terrible against the pass and couldn't apply pressure.... He puts up 21 points in the first half and when SF changes their scheme he becomes less potent..... Baltimore is not a 10 win team.
I wasn't going to say anything but I have to ask: why on earth do you keep saying that the Raven's D is going to be worse without Lewis? If anything, a journeyman LB or a rookie replaces him with no detriment to their defense. Aside from being a bloated mouthpiece, that whinging d bag hasn't added anything to the Raven's in over 2 years... I actually don't disagree that the Ravens will be playoff contenders next season but losing Lewis is a blessing to that team. Not even in disguise. He's been coasting off rhetoric and that retarded dance for some time now.

Lewis has lost a step, no doubt about that.... but he brings two things to the table: Leadership (which wouldn't hurt so much if Reed stayed too) and someone who has seen everything. He line ups and audibles as good as any in the game.... this team was willing to battle for this guy and I don't see the same intensity without him (like the last 6 regular season games).

Actually, as much as "luck" can be qualified in probability of turnovers/defensive lapses/etc, Baltimore graded out as one of the luckiest teams last year according to either PFF or FO. I don't have the paysite access but I'm sure someone here does.

I really like the group of UFA CBs. Maybe the strongest position in free agency. Hopefully they can land at least one decent vet.

Welp, looks like the Donald Jones lovefest ended with Gailey.

They HAVE to be going hard after a WR in free agency now...

To be fair, Jones was never anything special. And since he was undrafted, the RFA tender was pretty high (they have weird rules). I'd hope they keep Nelson though. He's the same situation, but I'd be more willing to tender him since he's very solid in the slot.

But yes, WR is a need for sure.

They will look hard at Bowe (though I want Jennings sooooo bad)

Johnson - Graham - Nelson is better than Johnson - Jones - Graham ainec

Here's the list of the top FA WRs:

Jennings
Wallace
Welker
Bowe
Amendola
Hartline
Gibson
Avery

Not a lot of pickings...but if they can get one of the top 4 on that list, they'll be in decent shape.

Jets are gonna cut Bart Scott.

While I'm no fan of his arrogance and his antics...he has familiarity with our DC...and we need help at LB...I would not be surprised one iota if the Bills go after him.

Can we grab welker just to troll the pats? I think he'd be a good fit with fitz because he runs a lot of short/intermediate routes well and can pick up huge chunks of yards after catches (as we've seen for the last 5+ years during his time with the fins/pats)Bowe or Jennings would also be great additions

Good news: Every mock draft has the Bills not picking a QB in the first round...... some even the first two .... Fingers crossed

CB and WR are a must in FA, get those two down then the draft will be less stressful they can just go BPA...

Not too shocked at Barnett. He was kind of a dumpster fire last year.

Wilson is kind of a surprise though. He was a Captain and who plays SS now? Searcy?

Imagine so. Searcy looked good when he was in there, though I am surprised they would cut Wilson. Then again, Wilson looked like he took a step back last year...two years ago he was really good.

Barnett...probably a good move, but that makes LB even bigger priority. Have to grab LB in the draft and/or FA.
