I'm not convinced that much value is worth an upgrade over Booth.
Booth on the third (if he cap works)

Don't see LA moving Richie for Kessel. Richie is a luxury to have; a low end #1C playing the #2C role for them.

If the Isles are hanging around in the playoff race come deadline time, I could see an offer of 2013 1st + niño + _________ for Kessel. Get JT an elite sniper for his wing.

Schneider Corrado and a 1st is a decent offer.

I'm sure there are a few more decent offers that teams would pitch just like that one.

Quite the narrative you're spinning.
He wouldn't sink every first line. The Sedins and Kessel surely wouldnt work together.

Crosby, Kessel, and Kunitz would work together OTOH

That is a terrible trade for SJ. I don't want any part of Kessel and especially if that is the price.

Most people would say that, but I feel Corrado has a much higher upside(not that he's particularly guaranteed to reach it) while Gaunce will never be more than a 2C. The emergence of Schroeder makes Gaunce expendable, and we have zero NHL calibre D depth after Corrado.

I hope Nonis gets a reasonable offer for Kessel soon because the only way that Kessel will help the Leafs is by getting traded, and the sooner it happens, the better of everyone will be.

This team is a LONG way from being a truly competitive team and it DESPERATELY needs to rebuild to eventually achieve that state. Moving out Kessel now for a reasonable return will dramatically help the much-needed rebuild.

I also hope that Nonis is receiving offers for Phaneuf (and others) as well.

The team needs to turn the page on the failed Burke era, and to do that, Nonis needs to clean the slate and build through the Draft.

Hemsky, Whitney, Pelss and a 2nd.

And yes, Whitney is a complete salary dump in this proposal.

The Leafs were listening on Gunnarsson a couple years ago. He's still here, isn't he?

Deal to get er done:

To TO:

- 1st Round Pick (13)
- Frankie Corrado
- Niklas Jensen (though it pains me)
- Cory Schneider

To Vancouver:
- Kessel
- Scrivens
- 4th Round Pick (14)

IMO that's tough to turn down from the Leafs' POV, but still a good trade for the Canucks considering where they're at. Kessel makes them a significantly better team now while at the same time not sacrificing too much of the future, considering he's still only 25 and doesn't exactly play a style that's going to cause his body to start breaking down any time soon.

As much as he's a great fit on the Canucks alongside Sedin, I'm sure any deal that would be discussed, the Leafs would start with Kassian.

That's terrible from a Canuck perspective and I'm a huge proponent of Kessel in Van City. Neither Jensen or Kassian are getting traded along with Schneider. If Schneider goes then it's pieces like Gaunce and/or 1st.

Done.

If we're moving Kessel (and I wouldn't be opposed to the idea), we want a young propect(s)/players and picks. IMO it's apparent Nonis was opposed to the idea of getting Kessel, so I wouldn't be shocked at all if he's moved.

Schneider would be awesome to get. Definitely a good proposal.

Kessel would look really good on the Canucks IMO.

Gillis and Nonis could work something out for sure.

I would be so pissed if the Canucks gave these pieces up for Kessel.

Yes, Canucks fans, lets trade for Kessel so we can be crowned the softest team in NHL history.
