Wow, you people.

Sykora, guaranteed, will find success with a team that showcases him on their #1 line with a playmaking center.

He is not past his prime - he is 29.

He is a finisher. He has one of the quickest releases in the league.

If you pair him with Sundin, he very well could break the 30 goal plateau.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind him back - it's just that I'd rather have Shanny and then leave the rest of the spots open.

This is true, however Prucha instead of being #4 or #5 will likely move up.

I also hope Jagr will be more efficient in he Shootout than he was last year(probably because he was tired from playing all those minutes).

Go get him, Slats.
Shanahan? WHY? He is so old.

Can you please enlighten me on how he played and if he would be a fit with Sundin?

Anything will help. Thanks!
If you want Sykora, here is my advice. Realize that he is a one-way offensive forward. He doesn't really create his own offense, but could be a very effective complement to a good player like Sundin. He works best in a puck-control kind of offense. My personal opinion is that, playing regularly on Mats Sundin's wing, he could potentially have a great season. If he's put on another line, he'd probably disappear.

He's also defensively sound which doesn't hurt a bit to have on the first line.

He's another example of an ex-Devil underperforming, when they put on a Ranger jersey.

I don't really want shanny. Not because of his age, but I feel he should end his career with detroit, and i think he will.

I'd much rather sign sykora, even though it dosn't look very good right now.

I felt sykora played well and was only tarnished by his bad luck in the playoffs.

-Ask yourself, if he had scored those goals, that hit the posts during the playoffs, and we still lost, would you feel any differently?

I think he choked, but if he's like me, he's dying to show nyr fans that he can play against the devils.

I wish they'd re-sign Sykora as well. I thought he played very well for us other than the playoffs (when almost no Ranger played well), and he seemed to be revived and thrilled to play with his boyhood idol, Marty Straka.

Now I'm glad we kept Straka because he had a great season, but anyone who watched all the games this season know that he failed to score on a ton of chances set up by Jagr. He just doesn't have enough finish at this point and is more of a setup man. The Rangers need a guy like Sykora to go along with Jagr and Prucha to actually finish on plays. Straka doesn't finish the way Sykora can.

Why?

Because he's gritty, he can score, and he'd make a good stop gap signing instead of signing a soft Sykora to a longer term deal, something we need to take no part of.

We need power forwards, we don't have any. We need more people who can score outside of Jagr's line. We also need someone with some leadership qualities.

Thank you.

The only ex-Devil that hasn't underperformed as a Ranger was probably Pat Verbeek.
