Grenier is looking pretty good... If he can score at or above PPG in the ECHL that's pretty impressive. He'll likely need another full year in the AHL as well, but if he continues to develop maybe he could turn into a decent draft choice.

Both Mallet and Grenier are doing well in the ECHL. They're late bloomers and will need time, just like Burrows did, but they both have an intriguing package of size, skating and skill. And in case of Mallet you can also add physicality, fighting and defensive play. I have high hopes for Mallet — he works hard and seems like a smart guy.

I love this clip of Mallet, an insane hit and then absolutely beats up the guy that challenges him:

It isn't. Neither is his physical game. Luckily he plays wing so it's not so much of an issue. (Think Blake Wheeler about 2 years ago for the type of player he is. Wheeler has added some grit and improved defensively over the past 2 years though, maybe Grenier can too.)

The K-Wings post interviews with their coach after almost every game, here's today's:

Says the team didn't play well, but he mentions Mallet as one of the guys that did really well and also says that Grenier played pretty well outside of a few turnovers. Nice to hear they're actually performing rather than just looking good on the statsheet.

^ I can't claim to know what sort of budget they run on, but it irks me nonetheless that they don't even post highlights from every home game! Was looking forward to looking at some of Mallet's bigger nights too, statistically.

Would love to see Mallet + Grenier move onto the AHL before the end of the season.

He has a one year contract and hasn't re-siged yet so he might be coming over next season. Would be good to see him on the Wolves.

Edit: In the past two years he signed his extensions in February and March, so we'll see if he signs one again. If he does, he's definitely not coming over unless he makes the NHL which is unlikely.

Ben Hutton has now missed four games (at least?) with his injury, and was quiet on the scoreboard in games just prior to that.

After reading great draughts of vitriol against the Maine coach on the USCHO fan board last night--virtually nothing but slagging Whitehead, not much about players or games--I wonder if Hutton will finish his four years there. You could say that AV wins President's Cups and still gets slagged here . . . but the Maine situation seems to be different. Time will tell if there's a coaching change, and / or Hutton follows Myron, although not at all for reasons of ice-time or character.

I want to add my thanks for this great, detailed post. Think of those of us who don't get the stream when you update how the game goes!

So I followed the link to the stream (thank you Mr. VikingNuck), and it wants me to download some torrent stream software.

Can anyone vouch for it? I don't like downloading odd software from sites.

Is he #17?

Indeed he is.

Caught the high sticking penalty and few net rushes.

Floating a bit up high waiting for a puck to bounce his way in the d-zone.

Not great quality of competition though.
