Kessel is the only the star player Leafs have on their roster. He's not being traded unless he's unhappy and asked for a trade . The return should be an equally skilled young roster player+
Kassian nor Jensen will be traded because Vancouver desperately needs ELC contracts on the team next year. Even if Jensen is only somewhat NHL ready next year, he'll likely make the team and have to figure it out as the season progresses because of the cap. If the Canucks were to trade for Kessel, this need for cheap contracts to fill out the roster would only be amplified.

Not as tempting as the offer that includes Jensen. However, I think this offer fits the general template that the Leafs should be employing--forward prospect, young goalie, high draft pick. But though I wouldn't ask for Kassian, I'd want a better forward prospect than Gaunce as that 1st is likely going to be a pick that comes a long, long ways into the opening round.

We do pay attention to the Kings here. King hasn't been very strong this year to start the season but he was very good in the playoffs.
Not interested in Penner at all and Bernier is alright. We need C's.

I wasn't thinking too hard about the contracts, more so just on value. Reimer is making peanuts though.

Its funny only two weeks ago Schneider was untouchable now he's being propsed in trades to the Leafs. I doubt Nonis will trade Kessel at this point with Lupul out for atleast another month trading Kessel would leave a big hole in the top 6 unless Nonis's plan is to tank.
