Yea, but he is coming off by far his worst season where he was barely a starter. Injuries seem to be really hampering him.

Clady is unquestionably the top guy.
Albert could be one of the top LTs in the league but there are medical concerns with his back.

Keeping Beatty is a priority. Unarguably the biggest priority, IMO. Guy is a serious left tackle and last year showed signs of blossoming into a great, great player on the line. I'd like to see all of Willy B, KP(if the price is right, due to injury concerns) and Bennett kept.

I think Phillips is gone. He showed flashes of greatness but just can't stay on the field.

Probably. But it's unfortunate because he is easily the best safety on the team.

I really like his game, and would be disappointed if he isn't retained. However, I definitely wouldn't question management's decision in letting him go strictly because of his constant injury problems. Brown looked like a suitable replacement from his play this past season.

KP is by far our best safety, and when he does play he puts up PFF stats that show he's clearly above average, if not one of the best in the league. He's so quietly great, and it's such a shame he's injury prone. If we don't retain him I think we need to be looking for an equivalent in an upcoming draft- with a safety that can do what KP does, everything else falls into place, since Rolle can play the role he's best at, too. Brown was alright but doesn't have nearly the amount of coverage ability KP has, and I'm not that big a fan of living and dying with the turnover.

If he signs for cheap then I see it as a Giants-type move. Low risk high reward. If he returns to his pro bowl form then great, if he sucks then you just keep him as a back up and let him move on after the season. The only issue is I'm not sure its realistic to ask a guy making 11 million a year to take a drastic pay cut- even if he has been injured.

I think he has said he wants at least 10 million a season. I doubt he gets that much, but it's still too pricey for this team.

Speaking of Webster, what the hell happened to him? He went from being quietly awesome to noticeably bad.

A lot of mileage. 31 years old for a corner is up there. He's always been a complimentary back, and last season he was asked to anchor the load, which he wasnt up to.

To be honest with you, he wasnt that bad until the end. I will stand by the fact that the defense looked bad this year partly because of the quality of QB's they faced this year -- Ryan, Rogers, Flacco, Big Ben, Romo twice, RG3 twice.....that's a tall order.

I'll say it looked as bad as it did because KP wasn't playing. Which meant not only were we missing a serious impact talent, but Rolle was stuck playing a role he's not good at, negating one of our few above average players in the secondary. Without a safety like KP to keep everything in order, there's not much to look forward to in the secondary besides Prince's quietly very good play.

Why are things so quiet all of a sudden on the Giants front? Cut one of Diehl or Webster and I breathe easier.

Thoughts on Charles Woodson, Giants fans?

Woodson, Webster, Amukamara, Thomas (I'm rooting for him big time), Brown, Rolle...

Not a terrible set of defensive backs.

Right Tackle should be priority #1 via UFA(assuming Beatty is kept)

Then Diehl can be cut saving almost 5mil

Cutting Webster & Rolle would save 12mil

That's 17mil to upgrade OL, sign Cruz

Draft is very deep on defense BPA will almost certainly be on D, very deep at DT, CB, & S.

Jets cut Bart Scott. He was largely an entertainer in his later years with the Jets, so I'm not surprised. But who amongst us will forget his epic post-game rant, or his media boycott? His football skills declined, but man, he was one damn funny entertainer.
