Where has someone said zero blame? And who has given Yeo 100% credit for success?

Not wanting him fired after 9 games =/= blameless

It makes me sad even having to spell that out.

last year during our 28 game skid we still had pro players making millions of $ (cullen, clutterbuck , brodz, heatr etc...) , this year we are healthy & struggling, doesnt that concern you?

Of course it's a concern, but we arguably have as much lineup turnover as any team in the league and no training camp/preseason games.

There is a difference between being concerned and wanting to jump ship after 9 games.

we're essentially three games past pre-season with a bunch of new players. not really worried at all.

We started 3-3-3 last year.

And our struggles this year aren't anywhere close to our struggles during those 28 games.

We might just have to face the fact that Anaheim is a really good team after what they did to SJ.

He has...Heatley dropped to the second line. Brodziak's still doing fine defensively, which is what his line is supposed to do.

Who says he doesn't? It's not like they're going to release team expectations to the public; they'll keep those internal.

These are all teams who have identical or even worse records than the Wild right now. This is an absolutely asinine conversation and should at the least be postponed until halfway through the season.

Edit: and I know what people will say: Obviously these coaches all have track records and are known for what they can do. At the same time, it proves that this early in the season there simply have not been enough games to make a judgment.
Amen.

Fletcher gave Yeo some very good players to work with. But how long has Yeo been able to coach them?

Training Camp Started on Jan 13

Now I'm not a math expert, but January 13 was three Sundays ago. About three and a half weeks. Yeo literally hasn't been able to have any contact with his players for a full month, let alone running them through drills.

What about practices?

Wild had FOUR practices prior to Blue Jackets game

FOUR. 1..2..3..4. Four practices through last Tuesday. Let's say they didn't practice on game days, and I believe they got a day off over the weekend (mandatory more time off under the new CBA). That's a total of SIX practices before the Anaheim game, maybe EIGHT before the Phoenix game.

Eight practices enough for Yeo to get the players fully coached up?

That's why I'm saying...time. You need some time to see how things shake out. How the players get settled, how the coach makes adjustments, how the players respond to those adjustments, etc.
This FTW

If theres any frustration with yeo, it's that he hasn't adjusted 5v5 lines during the game. There's an argument to be made for stability, but if it's broke, fix it.

During the game? I know he'll double shift occasionally. I wonder if that's his coaching style or is he just not familiar with the players enough? He didn't do it much last year either.

I know Lemaire loved to just play line boggle, maybe a bit too much, I don't know if that's necessarily a good strategy or not. I like giving hot players more ice time, but it's nice to have some familiarity out there as well. Personally I like playing with the same players because I know their tendencies and we can work out plays and what not.

Really though outside the top line and Bouchard, nobody has looked close to good. I'm worried if you split up the good players among too many lines, the other team just focuses on the one good guy and it all goes to crap.

I think that if the Wild lose tonight, Yeo starts to feel the fire under his ass and we'll see some panic decisions made in the near future... Yeo seems like a choke to me, but that's just my personal image of the guy, someone else might have a different view on the thing. Maybe SJ should hire him, eh?

I rather see some of the assistant coaches get the boot before Yeo. Yeo can only do so much. He can't get the players to score. He can't keep Backstrom from being an idiot and leaving the goal wide open. He can (and has) juggled the line to try and get more offense but the thing is, that's on the players to create the offense.

Yes they should. He doesn't seem to be handling things too good. Struggling with the lines but most of all, is he even present during the games?
When things aren't working out why not make some changes to the lines in-game? I'm not saying that he's supposed to switch it up every shift but he's gotta try some minor changes if none of the lines are creating chances.

Come on, almost there. Just lose bad to Nashville and I'm jumping on the fire Yeo bandwagon.

See if Lemaire wants to come in to help salvage this season like he did for the Devils not so long ago...

If we utilized dump and chase better it wouldn't be so bad. The system just doesn't work that well right now. We have enough talent to enter the zone other ways.
