Yep.

I honestly doubt it, not with the way Kadri has been playing so far this season.

Maybe if this discussions was last year, you would have been right.

That boat has sailed however.

Ugh, i don't want him. he'll cost too much and take a spot away from a younger player.

I'd really like to add Weiss to the Sens, especially if Latendresse will miss a significant amount of games.

what are Florida's needs?

Peumple + Bishop + 3rd would be my initial offer.

That said, Weiss for Kessel?
Add a top prospect to Weiss and I think the Leafs will listen.

Only matters if that guy will be as good as or better than Weiss.

Otherwise, depth is a great thing.

incorrect. developing a player like Zibby is more important than having a replacement C for Spezza for 30 games. By the end of the year, Spezza's back and we used Weiss as a 3rd liner? At the expense of whom? All the while losing our 1st and a prospect? No thanks.

Would love to hear how a 55 point scoring 29 year old is worth significantly more than kulemin & bozak

I don't see why Toronto would be interested in him. He's almost 30, a pending UFA and doesn't seem to be the #1 center they want/need. I think Weiss is a decent choice as a #2 center on an average team.

If Stephen Weiss moves on from Florida we would see what type of hockey player he could finally become. There is room for growth in his game.

Makes more sense to Toronto than Ottawa, imo. Ottawa has Turris, Zibanejad, Smith, and Da Costa, all behind Spezza when he returns.

Would be a great fit for OTT, first line as of now until Spezza comes back.

Turris-Spezza- Michalek
Silfverberg-Weiss- Alfie

Doesn't make any sense at all actually for the Leafs . Ottawa is in a lot better position than the Leafs. The Leafs trading away young players / prospects / picks etc., is a step back for a player that's worse than Grabo.

No argument on the price.

I think it's an ok problem to have "too many" good players though.

Weiss would be great in MacLean's system too.

not worth the price as a rental to the sens.
Plus he's sucked this year.

Pass.

Not interested. Don't see Weiss as any kind of fix. Short-term, mid-term, or long-term.

29 years old and 4 mil/per?

I'd rather spend that money on re-signing Kessel, or targeting/trading for Getzlaf or Perry.

Secondly, he doesn't seem to be the kind of player who would have chemistry with Kessel.

It means that most people commenting don't actually watch the Panthers play or know anything about them.

Weiss doesn't make that much sense when you consider how Kadri, Grabovski and Bozak are all small to mid sized centers who provide middling offense, not a lot of physical presence, varying degrees of adequate two way play etc.

Have Weiss ever played the wing? Would be a cool experiment when Spezza comes back.

Weiss-Spezza-Michalek

Not sure Ottawa are in a position to give up future for a 29 yo center that is UFA this summer though..

Give his age and salary...I wouldn't move him for Kulemin alone...and might only trade him for Bozak and a lesser prospect or 4th round choice.

Save moving Kulemin and Bozak in a package for a legitimate #1 center.
