Late to the party but, really surprised at him only returning a 5th..would have been fine with the Flames going as high as a 3rd. Guess a lot of us here (myself included) overestimated his value.

Everyone on HFBoards overestimates every players' value.

some of you posting those line combos... yeah, Loktionov is most certainly not going to be able to handle a #3 pivot role.

His value is better than a 5th, but Loktionov is a flight risk as it is a make or break season. If he doesn't end up on a roster, he'll likely be headed to Russia, hence the lukewarm interest and the price. He might be a rental prospect.

Absolutly when they both bolt for the KHL.

Undersized soft euros, are not what the champs need!

Great asset management by DL. He will bolt for the KHL and at least we got a 5th. 9 picks in the 2013 draft with Penner, Bernier still to be dealt with. Thinking DL has something up his sleeves at the deadline or sooner.

I'd just like to offer my $.02 on one thing. I'm a semi tall guy ( about 6"4 ) and I'm normally awful at describing someones size because I always say their small. However, Lokti is not someone I'd consider small. He's not a big guy but he's not small either. I've seen him on and off the ice many many times and I'd give him a solid 6".

I'm a huge fan of the kid and I think this was an awesome pick up for NJ, especially for the price. I think you guys got a good one here.

Well, I believe it was noted that he PLAYS like he's incredibly small.

Alright, that I would agree with. Though his craftiness somewhat makes up for it on both sides of the puck IMO.

This was a very low risk move by NJ. They either get a young skilled top 6 player with good possession skills, or worst case scenario he does go home and then they don't have to deal with him.

You think Kovy's still going to put up 70+ points in the KHL at age 43?

That'd be impressive as ****!

I always like what I saw when he played, but he's almost 5 years removed from the draft.

Production-wise, he's been so-so as a pro but he definitely has NHL-skills.

I think a 4th or 5th is fair value based off his age, his years as a pro and the aforementioned flight risk.

Loki wins a face off back to Adam Larsson who gets a shot on net and Loki bangs in the rebound for his first goal as a Devil in his 2nd game.
