I think he's fine on a fourth line, personally.

As much as I'd love to see Torres get his ass kicked, some Hawks fans are starting to sound like Canucks fans with the whole Keith situation. Torres was suspended and Hossa is playing great. Hit him hard or drop the gloves if the opportunity arises, but embarrass them by putting the puck in the net.

He's a fine 4th liner, I'd probably go in a different (more expensive) direction but the point is, he is a typical 4th liner, physical, fights, that's it. If we're going to tell him to stop fighting, even staged fights, he's not doing much out there.

2 points for the Coyotes could be the difference between them missing the playoffs or them getting relocated. Just think of winning as knocking them out of Phoenix.

Hit everything in sight though.

Fair enough.

It would certainly make me upset.

Bollig ideally should be the 13th forward. He doesn't add much to the team. Should be grabbing some bench once Carcillo is back.

That's fine. I've said the same in the past, that he doesn't need to be in the lineup every night but I like having him on the roster. All I said was the guy is fine on the fourth line and has done a fine job there. He doesn't hurt you at all. That's it.

the odds are in favor of us losing in these next few games, we cant remain technically unbeaten forever. though I want to win 40 games this year! if the score is us down by 2-3 goals early on, I would hope Tippet has enough sense to sit Torres the rest of the game.

Early on? This team has proven over the years it can come back from early deficits.

I've been thinking about this....we have to lose at some time. I could see us dropping the next 2. End of a long road trip against 2 defensive teams with good goaltending. Will be happy to take 2 points over the next 2 games.

Anyone tried projecting our record for the season after this start? 30-12-5?

I don't think I've seen one person say that Torres should be paid back in any other way aside from a fight or big hit.

bollig fights are a major reason fighting will be banned from nhl. they are gratuitous sideshows that only mouthbreathing casual fans even like. i roll my eyes every time that clown on skates squares off.

I don't believe fighting will ever be banned, just more heavily penalized. Like if you fight, your sitting in the box for 15 instead of 5.

I don't mind the occasional staged fight, especially when Chicago has come out flat and needs a spark. And I'm the furthest thing from being a casual fan.

I think you should have to serve a suspension for every 5 fights. Should help to curb staged fighting if guys are forced to miss say 3-5 games without pay if they fight too often.

That would be dumb. If you want to curb fighting the penalty per fight needs to be larger, 10 minute.. ect. Eventually it will just be banned.

I think they do that in the CHL now. It's working for sure, but it was far more of a goon league than the NHL is.

i hate staged fights, but there's different degrees of them. bolligs often have nothing to do with how the game is going and are just true sideshows. he's my least favorite hawk skater of the past 5 years. absolute waste of a roster spot.

What makes it dumb?

It would get rid of staged fighting by making it so you can only fight so many times. Bollig and the others wouldn't fight if he knew there was a max he's not allowed to reach or he risks losing money. But you'd still be able to defend your teammates when warranted.

Lol at both of your choices. Cullimore, Pasani, Potulny...so many better choices. Bollig does suck though.
