No, seriously. How does Whitney have more value than Boyle?

Whitney has been freaking awful all year.

these are the offers that make sense to me.
Sabres offer Leopold + Adam + 3rd for Boyle + 4th.
Sabres offer Weber + Adam for Boyle.
Sharks offer Murray + Clowe for Boyle + pick.
Habs offer Eller + Weber for Boyle.

Edit: Surprised the Avs fans have been quiet.

And before I forget,
Oilers offered Yakupov for Boyle but Rangers decline

I can't believe some of the offers that are on here. Yes, Boyle is a big body and a good 3-4th line centreman that can fight but please it is not like he puts up many points. Fistric got a 3rd from EDM and Lovejoy got a 5th. What the poster and NYR fans are asking for Boyle is just crazy. When you are dealing a player take away your fan love for him and take a look at what he could actually get. Only on HF is a player like Boyle worth so much.

By the way all those fans that have been tossing Hemsky under the bus look how he is performing now that he is healthy. He has been playing very good so far with speed and going into the corners. I told you all that he would be back.

2013 3rd RND Pick

Weber & Adam for Boyle & a 4th would make a lot of sense. Weber would be a fit on the 3rd pair in NY.

Dalpe's going to be a good player, give him time. Problem is we're trying to win now. Dalpe's still in the pubescent stages of his career.

Paul Gaustad got a 1st round pick.

Boyle's a shutdown center with terrific size, and has put up 32 goals over the last two seasons. And he's not as old as a dinosaur.

What the **** does Hemsky have to do with Boyle's value? And you told us all he would be back? Most of us don't even know who you are.

Feel Stepan worth more on open market. W/wout BB.

When Hawk fans get around to it, they will confirm I believe Chicago would have interest in Boyle.

? is the price....

If the Rangers could somehow land a stud like Ryan Clowe for Brian ****ing Boyle, I'll drive his giant ass to the airport myself.

While I respect your suggestion everyone get a grip an moderate their demands with more realistic values, which I consider a fair gripe, at the same time I believe you are undervaluing the market for Boyle.

BBG correctly points out 32g over 2 years. That's not a scoring dynamo, but it is solid for someone who is mostly 4th line C, event though he's pinch hit at 3c. Rarely does he play with linemates who score readily, let alone snipers. So that's a decent + number. And whatever else, the odd screw up aside, he does play spirited defense in a large yet mobile frame.

Just by way of one example, in discussions earlier on other threads last year, it was agreed some variation of Boyle gets you some variation of Olsen, who is late #1 pick.

The floor should be open for BB, we should consider all offers. If we move one asset for another that better overall fills a particular need, that's worth considering. But understand, Ranger fans are not looking to give Boyle away. Nor is he a salary dump.

----

BTW, Congrats on Hemsky, back producing for Oilers. I wish him the best. he's too expensive IMO, and has an injury track record which is not a good mix w/a big contract.

I know which is why he would most likely not be used by Torts. So my point still stands.

And in what world would I or any person make a trade proposal where the initial offer doesn't have some sort of gain for them.

I'm skimming through this thread and I'm not liking this whole Boyle to SJ thing. He's the last thing SJ needs, and there is no way in hell the Sharks would give up their young D or even a struggling Clowe for him. Please, leave the Sharks out of this.

First, I don't see us moving Boyler. He was scratched as a wake up call but Torts loves him and it's a lateral move. Let's not get too excited because we beat the Isles to get back to .500 and our rookies had a good game. We'd still much rather have Boyle on thr fourth line than Asham.

More important, by far, however is what we would take back. Guys like Kaberle and Ballard don't even get consideration. The Rangers need pending UFAs or cheap bottom-six/bottom pairing players. The cap is about to drop and we need to give raises to some key players. We're not taking back anyone with more than a 2.5M cap hit with term remaining on their contract, IMO. More over, I don't think we're looking to add by subtracting, as the idea of trading Boyle suggests. I mean, I could see it happening, but I think we're a lot more likely to look for a buyer for Asham (something like the Rupp deal -- minor) and do something like Eminger, Thomas, Bourque or any number of other prospects (not named Miller, McIlrath or perhaps Fast) along with picks (we have three thirds) for guys who are heading for UFA.

Rangers trade Brian Boyle Bourque 3rd (FLA) to Jets for Mark Stuart???
Rangers trade Brian Boyle to Leafs for Mike Komisarek
Rangers trade Brian Boyle to Panthers for Shawn Matthias or Keaton Ellerby
Rangers trade Brian Boyle to Canucks for Andrew Alberts or Keith Ballard

You're going more off the article than you are watching the games, that's for sure. I don't know what Katie's talking about, I haven't missed a game or a period all year and aside from a few shifts where Torts gets angry at them and plays musical chairs with the lines Boyle has been playing center.

Matthias I'd like, if Miller takes over the 3C spot, which he will soon enough, I'd trade Boyle for Matthias. I just don't know if Florida would.

How would Montreal fans feel about Boyle + a 3rd for Lars Eller? Boyle and Prust are an elite PK duo.

I think that Boyle is a good 3rd line centreman but that is all he is. He has fantastic size and that is something a lot of teams would love to have. I would love to have Boyle as EDM's 3C, he is exactly what EDM needs.

Why? JT Miller would have proven to the Rangers that he can replace Boyle if a trade happens. You'd be singing a very different tune if just one of our top 5 D-men went down. We're thin as it is on the blue line.
