we should ban all proposals... its all speculation, guessing, hope, BS. Its living vicariously thru NHL13... Anything thats in this thread is the above, so worrying about one guys opinion is stupid. Nunavit will ever happen.
Well of course its all speculation, guessing, hope, BS... Isn't that the point?? Of course none of it will ever happen...None of us are GM, unless Tambi is on these boards, in which case nothing would still get done because he enjoys shooting the s**t more than improving a team of hockey players! Your talking loud but you ain't saying nothing.
I just think a player like Bergeron would benefit this team more than a player like Eberle in terms of winning hockey games.
In terms of highlight reel goals and being the magnificent ******* that Eberle is...well that's a whole different story
Centres will heal.. RNH back by Saturday, Belanger back by Sunday... so we will have RNH, Gags, Belanger, AHL call up (VV most likely).
I am fine with that for a while, I think they need to see what the market is like for a top 4 defence man, even if they are a UFA in the summer. Whitney has just not been able to get the job done this year...
If someone offers you anything of significance for Whitney I think at this point you take it.. The best case scenario that is some what realistic for me is the following:
-Trade Whitney and some picks/prospects for an upgrade on D
-Sign Jason Arnott for the year and have him come in healthy and ready to go. Fills in for the injuries than moves to wing once Horcoff is back.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
The Boston Bruins only get a draft pick from the Islanders for Tim Thomas if he reports to them or any other team if NYI trade his rights.
Wow that's actually quite a price just to hit the floor, oh the Isles
Yep. I feel bad for the fans when the franchise would rather let Parenteau walk, and then waste a 2nd round pick for nothing instead of paying $4 million
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Which is ideal for NYI. No acquisition price. NYI can toll contract to next year if they like, continue to get cap benefit in perpetuity.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Or NYI can let contract expire at end of season and be done with it. Their call. Thomas has no intent to return to play at this time.
So hypothetically in 8 years from now Thomas could still be getting the Isles to the cap floor.

Boston won't see the 2nd round pick. Thomas will not report to the Isles.

Next up Chris Pronger to the Isles.
Hypothetically ya, but if Thomas retires so he can get his pension(not sure if he's played 400 games) then its done.
Edit: He's at 378 so nevermind. Would think the league will close this loophole up quick. Helps the NHLPA too as Thomas is taking a paycheque from someone else the Isles could have signed for 4 Million.

I feel sorry for Tavares and the fans. That team needs a new owner and GM stat.
If RoR wants 5mil per year I am not interested in him, that is way too much. Boyle would be a nice addition as a centreman for the 3rd or 4th line with his size. A line of PRV, Boyle, Harti would be very nice.
